Electropop outfit The XX receive an official remix treatment courtesy of a fellow countryman, British producer Jamie Jones. This rendition takes on a House version of Crystalized and the end results were quite impressive. Check it out.
London-based indie pop band The xx release an artistic video for their single “Islands” off their self-titled album. Director Saam Farahmand places a seemingly repetitive choreography into action until it eventuelly becomes clear that each take is an individual one indicating the complicated nature of today’s relationship between both genders. In the meantime, the trio attend this choreographic frenzy rather passively. Definitely entertaining to watch.
The Magic Wands get a remix from London-based trio, The xx. This time around the band’s Black Magic record receives the remix and the results are nothing less than stellar, in typical “XX” fashion. If you’d like to hear more from the Magic Wands you can get their EP on itunes which is available now. Meanwhile, The xx’s also had a self-entitled album that dropped this past January, XX, look out for that as well.
The xx’s make a return with yet another remix to island “Islands” So far we’ve heard remixes from FaltyDL, Delorean, and Nosaj Thing. But this time around California to Copenhagen producer CHLLNGR brings forth his own unique mix of the record. While adding a a more claustrophoic take on “Islands” it’s definitely worth the listen, especially with this trademark synths. CHHLLNGER will be coming out with a debut EP on Green Owl later this year. Check it out.
