Freddie Gibbs presents the official clip for the title track of his 2011 collaborative project with Madlib, Thuggin'. The clip displays Gibbs going all in Tony Montana-style for this gangsta-infused viral. Definitely an adequate visualization given the track's content and title.

DJ/producer/rapper Madlib has linked with American soul singer-songwriter Georgia Anne Muldrow to produce her entire forthcoming album Seeds. The cross-genre collaboration welcomes a pair of firsts, as Muldrow has never released an album without her partner and producer Dudley Perkins, and on the flipside, it makes for the first time that Madlib has worked with a female artist for an entire album. The project is slated to release on March 27, but for now, check the title track by visiting Rolling Stone.

Following this holiday weekend of Black Star's single release of "Fix Up," the West Coast spitter also came to a realization that he too had laid some bars over the Madlib production. With that said, he went ahead and premiered the song over on Okayplayer and titled it "EZ." The song is supposedly from a download album Blu had recorded titled UCLA that had exclusively Madlib beats. No further details on that project, but we'll certainly keep you updated if anything unfolds. Check out Blu's version below and let us know what you think!

Following the surprise announcement that Freddie Gibbs and Madlib teamed up for a joint EP called Thuggin', 500 copies of the piece have been given away at Gibbs' recent concert in San Francisco. Thuggin' is effectively a preview for a yet-untitled full-length that Madlib and Gibbs are scheduled to release together in the first quarter of next year. Today, this six-track teaser is available through Stones Throw whereas its title track is streamable below.

Can't say we've seen this one coming. Rapper Freddie Gibbs teams together with legendary hip-hop producer Madlib for an EP set to be entitled Thuggin' but has also been dubbed MadGibbs. Last night at Madlib's show in San Francisco, where Gibbs made a special guest appearance, the EP was available for sale, limited to 500 copies. The tracklist made its way onto the net via Gibbs' manager Archie Bonkers, which you can check out down below. The project is said to release on Monday, we'll keep you up to date with any additional information.

While Stones Throw recording artists M.E.D. gears up the release of his upcoming album, Classic, we get a nice little outtake featuring former Slave frontman, Steve Arrington and production by Madlib. The smooth-grooved tune should definitely raise more interest in the album being that it didn't make the final cut. The Classic LP features appearances from Aloe Blacc, Talib Kweli, Hodgy Beats (OFWGKTA), Kurupt and more. Set to hit shelves next Tuesday, November 1, the album is available for pre-order here.

As initially announced, Madlib will conclude his popular Madlib Medicine Show series with the 12th installment. On that note, the influential producer has now prepared the final episode which is set to host unsuspecting collaborators that "run the gamut from thugs, street poets, star emcees and underdogs." This basically means that we are in for plenty of surprises. In addition, Stones Throw informs us that there are plans to bless live audiences with a special Madlib live set:

In November and December Madlib will hit six as-of-yet-to-be-announced North American cities, taking his Medicine Show LIVE. While the particulars are being sorted out, we’re hearing rumors of J. Rocc sets, live screen printing by Hit+Run of limited edition vinyl, and surprise guests – including one with whom he’s currently working on a collaborative album. (And we do not mean the metal faced guy.)

There is a potential Black Star reunion in the works, folks. A two-minute snippet of an "Untitled" track has now emerged which finds Mos Def spitting over a Madlib beat with Talib's verse being featured in the full version. We're now announcing the release of Madlib Medicine Show #9: Channel 85 presents Nittyville, a full-length hip-hop album featuring Detroit's Frank Nitt. Originally launched as a one-a-month, 12-part series, Medicine Show #9 is the first to break the chronology.

Nittyville is also perhaps the most traditional of the series, and we make no bones about it: one MC, one producer, and a rap record all about stunts, blunts and hip-hop.

As for “Channel 85,” it is far off most dials. This album’s concept TV station runs one show only: the comic-drama, reality-musical called Nittyville, featuring Frank, MED, Oh No, Madlib, and a supporting cast of extras.

The album is 14 tracks including 10 rap tracks, 4 interludes, and runs 43 minutes.

THE LIMITED EDITION 3LP VINYL will contain the album on 2 LP's and a 3rd disc of non-album tracks. The covers will be hand silk screened by Hit+Run with artwork from Gustavo Eandi and Jeff Jank, creating one-of-a-kind artwork on every sleeve.
