Being offered is a visual teaser for the upcoming LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits. The clip contains a portion of the band's Madison Square Garden performance of "North American Scum" and some words from frontman James Murphy on the band's breakup. An official release date has yet to be revealed but more details on this piece are expected to emerge on April 2, which marks the first "anniversary" of the band's last performance. Shut Up and Play the Hits is also set for screening at SXSW.

Although LCD Soundsystem's final shows at Madison Square Garden may taken place last April, the band will have their final act at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival on January 22. The appearence comes in the shape of Shut Up And Play The Hits, a documentary that highlights the group's final performances, taking you behind the scenes and into the crowd. The official trailer has now hit the web and judging from this visual tease, the piece will largely focus on frontman James Murphy as he deals with the reality of consciously termiating LCD Soundsystem and the time after that.

Disbanded dance-punk band LCD Soundsystem finally lets loose the visuals coinciding with their previously released cover of Franz Ferdinand's "Live Alone" single. The audio was released roughly eight months ago, as we now see a time-lapsed accompanying aesthetic, which only enhances the slowed-down re-working that much more. Although LCD Soundsystem is done with providing the world with quality music, it does not mean that there is no occasion for devoted fans to create some self-made videos. Take Michael J. Green for instance, who offers this shot-for-single-shot remake of LCD Soundsystem's 2007 music video for "All My Friends." Keeping up with their announcement that they would release a new EP entitled Covers, which features other recording artists covering their previous works, Franz Ferdinand offers a teaser in the shape of (retired) LCD Soundsystem's seven-minute rendition of "Live Alone." Domino now offers this big tune on their SoundCloud but you can stream below.

For the last 10 years, James Murphy led LCD Soundsystem on top of the dance punk genre due to three critically-acclaimed longplayers, countless singles and award nominations. On Saturday night, the celebrated band invited their fans to Madison Square Garden to experience their last show ever. Much to the delight of the sold-out audience the band was also assisted by good friends Arcade Fire, Reggie Watts and Shit Robot. For three-and-a-half hours, the band played 29 songs in total, and gave their fans a treat by performing "45:33." After performing their opening number, an emotional Murphy told the crowd:

"This is a weird experience for us." He added, "In keeping with the history of our band, we hope it's going to be a weird experience for everybody." "It's like New Year's except next year we're dead."

The offered visual might be a moment of music history as LCD Soundsystem made their "last television appearance." Frontman James Murphy cited his age and career of running a record label as his reasons to break up his immensely successful music project. Two weeks ago the band announced their last show ever at New York City's Madison Square Garden, but due to some resale issues and vastly inflated ticket prices, Murphy decided to add five more dates at the smaller, but still relatively large venue, Terminal 5 from March 28-31. Here comes the new video for "Pow Pow" by LCD Soundsystem. The This Is Happening-cut features actress Anna Kendrick and was visually interpreted by Training Day writer David Ayer. James Murphy also readies the release of a live-in-studio LP titled The London Sessions. As the title indicates the band recorded the material in a studio in London. The project will be digitally release November 9 via DFA/Virgin. iTunes is holding an exclusive until December 6.

Another visual off the LCD Soundsystem's alleged final album This Is Happening. This time around, it is the lyrically retrospective tune "Home" that is honed with a video. Directed by Rick Darge, the seven minute-clip follows a self-made robot who finds plenty of love from his peers. Check it out above.
