Coming this Fall, LCD Soundsystem, alongside Hot Chip will join forces for a series of shows across North America. It doesn’t happen too often that a song’s rework receives the video treatment. The remix of LCD Soundsystem’s “Drunk Girls” delivered by creative Brooklyn duo Holy Ghost! has now been blessed with an entertaining visual. Hardly comparable to Spike Jonze’s clip for the original version, director Daniel Garcia enacts a rather bizarre arrangement of some distinctive characters. Check it out above.

Belgian remix collective Soulwax deliver another stellar remix from their favorite interpretational object of choice – LCD Soundsystem. This time around, You Wanted A Hit is blessed with a rework although the basic structure of the original version is retained. The buzzing element, however, adds another dimension to the tuneful jam. Offered is the new video for LCD Soundsystem’s cover of Suicide frontman Alan Vega’s “Bye Bye Bayou” from 1980. The visual catapults the viewer back to the era when the original version of the song was recorded. Even if they are only visible to seemingly ancient video effect, James Murphy and Pat Mahoney are trying to get their dance moves on. Enjoy.

In anticipation of the final LCD Soundsystem-album This Is Happening The Slips take on James Murphy’s current single “Dance Yrself”. The UK dance outfit created a superb remix by adding various layers of hypnotic synth-infused sounds that add another dimension to the original’s bleepy electronica elements. LCD Soundystem labelmates Holy Ghost! have given the remix treatment to LCD’s hit single, Drunks Girls. You’ll notice some layered vocals, including some new drums that give the song a new dimension. Is it really the last opus or is James Murphy bluffing? Does it resemble the earlier work a little bit too much? Don’t expect to find any answers to these urging questions or any drunk female extras running around as the official video to the first single “Drunk Girls” emerges. During the last few weeks there have been new sounds coming from the forthcoming third LCD Soundsystem album. As previously reported James Murphy plans no more LCD Soundsystem records after this. To the surprise of many the LP has been untitled and uncovered until now. Today the artwork as well as the title of have been unveiled. According to various reports the album will be titled This Is Happening and can be interpreted as Murphy’s focus on the present so the listener can enjoy the music to the fullest without any prejudices given that this is indeed the final LCD Soundsystem we will hear. Here is the first official single “Drunk Girls” from LCD Soundsystem’s forthcoming yet-to-be-titled album. After illegitimate streams of “Drunk Girls” appeared in the digital sphere a couple of days ago, Parlophone reacted promptly and took down the illegal waves to replace them with their own full HD stream that you can find above. After listening to the song it becomes apparent that producer James Murphy remains loyal to his signature sound of bleepy electronica he has been crafting for the past seven years. Expect LCD Soundsystem’s propably last album to hit your favorite retailer May 17th.

Noah Baumbach’s motion picture “Greenberg” starring Ben Stiller will be blessed by an indie-rock centric soundtrack featuring new music from LCD Soundsystem. The first musical taste of James Murphy, is “Oh You (Christmas Blues)”. As the title suggests this is a pure Blue-song finding Murphy disturbed and frustrated along the Pink Floyd-style guitar riffs. It is apparent that the lamenting draws parallels to the persona of Greenberg fictional persona.
