Kavinsky – Nightcall (80s Metal -Just For Fun- SAWAGii Rework)
Parisian Electro Pop outfit Jolie Cherie present their rendition of Kavinsky’s eclectic “Nightcall” – arguably one of the most influential Electro records this year. With newly recorded vocals and a new keyboard arrangement the trio turned in a very experimental, but successful approach of the original version. For all potential beatmakers, Kavinsky and his label Record Makers offer the possibility to submit your own remix of the song till Wednesday, June 30th. Check out the contest here.
As part of Kavinsky’s remix competition Canadian Electronic enforcers The Girls Can Hear Us bring forth a solid rendition of the French producer’s excellent track. As you can hear below, the duo speed things up for their version which definitely suits the original. Check it out.
His biography reads: Kavinsky died in a car crash in 1986, whilst driving his beloved Testarossa. He re-appeared as a zombie in 2005, with his 12-inch, ‘Teddy Boy’. The Zombie has now come back with a new EP and is giving us two examples of what his upcoming offering will sound like. Yesterday we presented you the title track plus a remix graced by Breakbot, and now it’s up to you to follow a ghostcar on the highway via the second track “Pacific Coast Highway”. Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” EP is set to be released March 15 of Record Makers.
Earlier today we presented the original mix of Kavinsky’s new smashing piece “Nightcall”. It comes to no suprise that tracks like these are subject to numerous remixes. Newest signee of legendary label Ed Banger Records, French producer Breakbot added his clever blend of disco and electro elements to “Nightcall”. Enjoy.
Parisian beatmaker Kavinsky has been a fixture on international dance floors for a while now. His latest effort entitled “Nightcall” should easily solidify his reputation among lovers of radly-electro house music. Produced by Guy Manuel de Homem Christo of Daft Punk, this track serves as a homage to all that 80s sci-tech movie outro music. With vocals from CSS’ Lovefoxx, Kavinsky offers a downtempo slice of bumpy synths and whispery singing. “Night Call” drops via Record Makers on March 22.
