Alan Palomo aka Neon Indian has been making quite a few strides lately, from his recent appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to this new single released through Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound, Sleep Paralysist. His unique sound can be described as psychedelic, absract with a little bit of a lo-fi filter. This concept carries onto this single we have here, Sleep Paralysist. The song does great justice for the band by showcasing their cheeky humor and all while bringing forth forth a catchy, easy-going tune. After the preview it’s the official version. Californian Hip Hop duo U-N-I present the official video for their first single “Lately” off their long awaited sophomore effort “A Love Supreme 2.0″. Helmed by Fredo Tovar & Scott Fleishman of Aplusfilmz the directing duo displays footage of a nice little afterparty with U-N-I and Ro Blvd and charming company. “A Love Supreme 2.0″ CD+DVD is out now.
Vancouver based indie rockers, Becky Black (guitar/vocals) and Maya Miller (drums) unleash their first single, “Crazy” from their upcoming album We Kill Computers. The song hints a bit of stomp-blues and dirty rock n’ roll, and proves to be a great mix with the catchy chorus. “Crazy” is great first single coming out the gate for the ladies as it reflects what they’re going to be all about. The forthcoming album We Kill Computers is out April 27th, check it out.
High on Fire recently dropped their fifth studio album Snakes for the Divine, and have had nothing but great reviews. But as of today, High on Fire premiere a video covering their first powerhouse single “Frost Hammer”. The Bangz render the instrumental of Lil’ Wayne’s Rebirth-cut “Runnin’” as an appetizer for their upcoming “Girls Riot” EP. The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League produced track is only edited partially since Weezy’s second verse remains on this piece. Altogether the female duo succeeds in giving a fresh interpretation of this rock/rap-ballad. Noah Baumbach’s motion picture “Greenberg” starring Ben Stiller will be blessed by an indie-rock centric soundtrack featuring new music from LCD Soundsystem. The first musical taste of James Murphy, is “Oh You (Christmas Blues)”. As the title suggests this is a pure Blue-song finding Murphy disturbed and frustrated along the Pink Floyd-style guitar riffs. It is apparent that the lamenting draws parallels to the persona of Greenberg fictional persona.
Boston’s own soulful dance ambassadors Passion Pit received another noteworthy remix treatment. Ben Macklin and Tom Hammond, the creative minds behind London’s Cassette Club graced “Sleepyhead” with their own blend of disco synths and soul music to create another example of their self-defined electrosexiness.
