<p>First class deserves the top spot. This is the case with Wale's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/wale-big-sean-bob-first-class/ ">collaboration</a> with Big Sean and B.o.B and the latest installment of our Weekly Set series. As this lineup already indicates, all three emcees are on fire over this crazy Raz Fresco beat. Chicago's Sound Remedy came correct with his <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/beethoven-moonlight-sonata-sound-remedy-remix/">modern rendition</a> of Ludwig van Beethoven's timeless "Moonlight Sonata," whereas the Hood Internet <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/hood-internet-all-of-the-lights-ellie-goulding-x-portland-cello-project-x-kanye-west/">mashed up</a> the talents of Ellie Goulding, Kanye West and the Portland Cello project. Last week further saw Swizzy going <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/swizz-beatz-bonkers/">"Bonkers"</a> and the reemergence of Yung Joc who used Rick Ross's trademark "Ugh/Huh" uttering and created a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/yung-joc-featuring-rick-ross-ugh/">song</a> out of it. </p>
<p>Further highlights encompass Curren$y's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/curreny-run-dat-sht/">"Run Dat Sh*t,"</a> a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/doomstarks-doom-ghostface-killah-victory-laps-madvillainz-remix-radio-rip/">new track</a> by DOOM and Ghostface's brainchild DOOMSTARKS, a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/chromeo-when-the-night-falls-hercules-love-affair-remix/">Hercules &#038; Love Affair remix</a> of Chromeo's new single, Weezy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/lil-wayne-sorry-4-the-wait-mixtape/">cover</a> of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," and Big Shug and DJ Premier's Guru <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/big-shug-we-miss-you-produced-by-dj-premier/">tribute track</a>. Last but certainly least, Wale's J. Cole-powered <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/wale-featuring-j-cole-bad-girls-club/">"Bad Girls Club"</a> has caused a major ruckus on the blogosphere. In addition, major rock icons Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blink-182 celebrated their respective much-anticipated comebacks to the music scene. Listen to the Chili's new song <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/red-hot-chili-peppers-the-adventures-of-rain-dance-maggie/">here</a> and Blink's tune <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/blink-182-up-all-night/">here</a>.</p>
<p>Regarding music videos we saw excellent by submissions by <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/grimes-beast-infection/">Grimes</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/rimer-london-featuring-cata-pirata-put-your-gun-away-video/">Rimer London</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/theophilus-london-girls-girls/">Theophilus London</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/asher-roth-summertime/">Asher Roth</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/pete-rock-smif-n-wessun-featuring-tyler-woods-monumental/">Pete Rock and Smif-N-Wessun</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/cults-go-outside-3/">Cults</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/atmosphere-the-last-to-say/">Atmosphere</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/teddybears-featuring-cee-lo-the-b52s-cho-cha/">Teddybears</a>, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/tom-vek-aroused/">Tom Vek</a> and <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/how-to-dress-well-decisions/">How to Dress Well</a>. Now enjoy in the audio recap below!</p>

<p>Due to the nation's birthday last week, we skipped on our beloved Weekly Set so that we can now offer you the most notable audio news within the past 14 days. Right on top we find reemerging band Limp Bizkit to join forces with another Wu-Tang member. This time around, the Chef himself adds some verbal jabs for <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/limp-bizkit-featuring-raekwon-combat-jazz-produced-by-mathematics/">"Combat Jazz"</a> which is also the bonus cut of the band's new <em>Gold Cobra</em> album. Chi-Town's Cool Kids provided yet another <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/the-cool-kids-gas-station-featuring-bun-b-x-summer-jam-featuring-maxine-ashley-pharrell-williams/">summer jam</a> produced by Pharrell Williams whereas Hypetrak had the honors <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/premiere-theophilus-london-no-particular-one/">to present</a> a Caribbean-flavored new Theophilus London jam. In addition, Lil Wayne made it loud and clear that <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/lil-wayne-tunechis-back/">"Tunechi's Back"</a> over the "Tupac Back" instrumental while Breakbot added his disco-funky touch to Chromeo's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/chromeo-featuring-solange-when-the-night-falls-breakbot-remix/">"When the Nights Falls."</a></p>
<p>Further offerings contain a previously <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/2pac-watch-ya-mouth-unreleased-dr-dre-nas-biggie-de-la-soul-diss/">unreleased diss record</a> by 2Pac, an excellent <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/lupe-fiasco-featuring-lil-wayne-where-i-began-dj-breezy-mashup/">blend</a> of Lupe Fiasco and Lil Wayne's rhyme skills, a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/coldplay-every-teardrop-is-a-waterfall-swedish-house-mafia-remix/">Swedish House Mafia remix</a> of Coldplay's new single, a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/07/d-veloped-the-childish-games-childish-gambino-mashup/">Childish Gambino mashup</a>, as well as a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-glitch-mob-warrior-concerto/">new song</a> by The Glitch Mob.</p>

<p>Summertime is officially in full effect. With the temperature steadily rising within the Northern Hemisphere, recording artists took notice and delivered some sun-drenched tunes for your audio pleasure. Need proof? Just check this week's Weekly Set. The Cool Kids <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-cool-kids-featuring-mayer-hawthorne-swimsuits/">swimsuit up</a> along with soulful crooner Mayer Hawthorne, and so do Common and No I.D. who <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/common-cocaine-80s-summer-madness/">avoid going crazy</a> off the heat. Internet sensation Kreayshawn has some <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kreayshawn-rich-whores/">friendly words</a> for female gold diggers whereas Mac Miller and Talib Kweli <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/mac-miller-featuring-talib-kweli-family-first/">bethink themselves</a> to their core values. In addition, a previously <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kid-cudi-angels-demons/">unreleased track</a> hints at the fact that Cudder has been fighting bipolarity for a while.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Washed Out offered a new tune, The Weeknd <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-weeknd-trust-issues-remix/">took on</a> Drizzy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/drake-trust-issues/">"Trust Issues,"</a> Smoke DZA and Domo Genesis <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/smoke-dza-featuring-domo-genesis-loaded-remix-produced-by-by-lex-luger/">joined forces</a>, Tate La Rock and Troublemaker <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-weeknd-rolling-stone-tate-la-rock-and-troublemaker-remix/">remixed</a> The Weeknd's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/the-weeknd-rolling-stone/">"Rolling Stone,"</a> and Gold Panda <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/gold-panda-mpb/">treated</a> his followers with an all-new tune.</p>
<p>Notable music videos during the past seven days include Theophilus's<a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/theophilus-london-last-name-london/"> "Last Name London,"</a> Pac Div's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/pac-div-your-fuckin-song/">song</a>, Skrillex's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/skrillex-rock-n-roll-will-take-you-to-the-mountain/">"Rock N Roll,"</a> Estelle and Rick Ross <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/estelle-featuring-rick-ross-break-my-heart/">breaking hearts</a>, Curren$y's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/curreny-she-dont-want-a-man-2/">"She Don't Want a Man,"</a> Young the Giant's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/young-the-giant-cough-syrup/">"Cough Syrup,"</a> Rozay and Weezy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/rick-ross-featuring-lil-wayne-9-piece/">"9 Piece,"</a> The Kills' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-kills-future-starts-slow/">"The Future Starts Slow,"</a> SBTRKT's outstanding collaboration with Little Dragon entitled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/sbtrkt-featuring-little-dragon-wildfire/">"Wildfire,"</a> and last but not least Eminem and Sasha Grey being <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/eminem-space-bound/">"Space Bound."</a></p>

<p>After sampling issues initially postponed the release, J. Cole's new single <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/j-cole-work-out/">"Work Out"</a> has finally hit the blogosphere last week. Although the sample-heavy track caused mixed reactions within our readership, it has the potential to grow on the listener and make an impact on (non-) digital (radio) waves. Following the announcement that Queens duo Capone-N-Noreaga have split, N.O.R.E. seems to be just fine on his solo path. In preparation of his upcoming album, <em>Superthug</em>, the rapper offered <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/nore-featuring-lil-wayne-pharrell-finito/">"Finito,"</a> a track that features the prominent talents of Lil Wayne and Pharrell Williams. By releasing his <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/cyhi-da-prynce-royal-flush-2-mixtape/"><em>Royal Flush 2</em></a> mixtape last week, CyHi Da Prynce has shown tremendous potential for a promising rap career. In accordance, his collaboration with fellow G.O.O.D. Music representative Big Sean, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/cyhi-da-prynce-featuring-big-sean-woopty-doo/">"Woopty Woop,"</a> has been chosen as one of the standout cuts of the project. After Maybach Music Group's <em>Self Made Vol. 1</em> has been received very well, Wale is keeping his momentum in check with his new tune <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/wale-lacefrontin/">"Lacefrontin,"</a> which is reminiscent of the DC native's pre-MMG days. Virgina-based genre-crossing trio Mansions on the Moon are currently in 100% album mode. Thus, the band has unleashed the audio version of their new jam, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/mansions-on-the-moon-darkness-2/">"Darkness,"</a> which increases the anticipation surrounding the promising debut long-player, titled <em>Lightyears</em>.</p>
<p>Further highlights include XV's aerial <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/xv-30000-feet-up-in-the-sky/">"30,000 Feet Up in the Sky,"</a> The Foreign Exchange's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-foreign-exchange-featuring-amber-paris-strother-of-king-all-the-kisses/">"All The Kisses"</a> featuring Amber and Paris Strother of KING, Wu-Tang's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/rza-u-god-cappadonna-bronze-nazareth-225-rounds/">"225 Rounds"</a> featuring RZA, U-God, Cappadonna and Bronze Nazareth, Destructo's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/destructo-technology/">"Technology,"</a> and Best Coast's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/best-coast-gone-again-2/">"Gone Again."</a></p>
<p>Plenty of high quality music videos have reached us last week – we've seen Frank Ocean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/frank-ocean-novacane/">"Novacane,"</a> MellowHype's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/mellowhype-64/">"64,"</a> Talib Kweli's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/talib-kweli-mr-international-video/">"Mr. International,"</a> Metronomy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/metronomy-the-bay/">"The Bay,"</a> Big Sean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/big-sean-i-do-it-2/">"I Do It,"</a> a <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/breakbot-fantasy-jacques-renault-remix/">vintage-infused clip</a> for Jacques Renault's rendition of Breakbot's "Fantasy" as well as the official video for the <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/breakbot-featuring-ruckazoid-fantasy/">official version</a>. Lady Gaga presented the shockingly normal video for her new single <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/lady-gaga-the-edge-of-glory/">"Edge of Glory"</a> whereas Chris Brown and Justin Bieber's got apocalyptic in their video "<a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/chris-brown-featuring-justin-bieber-next-2-you/">Next 2 You,"</a> and last but not least Diplo and Dillon Francis getting all trippy for <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/dillon-francis-diplo-featuring-maluca-que-que/">"Que, Que"</a> featuring Maluca.</p>
<p>Also make sure to check out the <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/big-sean-finally-famous-full-album-stream/">full album stream</a> of Big Sean's <em>Finally Famous</em> debut, Cee Lo Green's Neptunes-produced tune <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/cee-lo-green-bridges-produced-by-the-neptunes/">"Bridges,"</a> and JoJo's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/jojo-marvins-room-cant-do-better-drake-cover/">interesting take</a> on Drake's new single. <p>Welcome back to the latest edition of our Weekly Set series. With the latest <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/drake-marvins-room/">audio impression</a> from his upcoming sophomore effort <em>Take Care</em>, Drizzy is certainly setting up the mood right. So does The-Dream. While announcing his fourth album, <em>The Love, IV (Diary of a Mad Man)</em>, the crooner unleashed the double track <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-dream-body-work-fck-my-brains-out/">"Body Work / F*ck My Brains Out"</a> in order to whet the appetite of the masses. Odd Future's Domo Genesis also kept the word spreading with his sample-heavy <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/domo-genesis-boss-life/">"Boss Life."</a> Not new, but certainly worth a listen or two is the previously unreleased track by Lil Wayne. Entitled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/lil-wayne-my-birthday-ft-kidd-kidd-gudda-gudda-t-streets-mack-maine/">"My Birthday,"</a> the tune dates back to 2006 and finds Weezy sharing the mic with Kidd Kidd, Gudda Gudda, T Streets &#038; Mack Maine. Arguably one of the most consistent rappers in the game, Curren$y offered another preview from his much-anticipated <em> Weekend At Burnies</em>. Much to the pleasure of his fans, Spitta does what he does best and kicks a laid back flow on <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/curreny-you-see-it/">"You See It."</a> Kelly Rowland also scored high with her Lil Wayne-assisted "Motivation." Needless to say that an <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kelly-rowland-featuring-trey-songz-busta-rhymes-fabolous-motivation-remix/">official remix treatment</a> with the likes of Trey Songz, Busta Rhymes and Fabolous would also receive heavy attention. </p>
<p>Further highlights consist of Skylar Grey's treat <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/skylar-grey-dance-without-you/">"Dance Without You,"</a> Thundercat's refreshing <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/thundercat-daylight/">"Daylight,"</a> Royce Da 5'9"'s long overdue <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/royce-da-59-second-place-produced-by-dj-premier/">reunion</a> with DJ Premier, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/washed-out-eyes-be-closed-grimes-remix/">Grimes' remix</a> of Washed Out's "Eyes Be Closed," and The Naked and Famous throwback <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/the-naked-and-famous-bells/">"Bells."</a></p>
<p>Regarding videos we saw Memory Tapes' surreal <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/memory-tapes-yes-i-know/">"Yes I Know,"</a> eLZhi's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/elzhi-it-aint-hard-to-tell/">"It Ain't Hard to Tell,"</a> We Are Trees' choreographic <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/we-are-trees-i-dont-believe-in-love/">"I Don't Believe in Love,"</a> Pusha T's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/pusha-t-alone-in-vegas-2/">"Alone in Vegas,"</a> an official video of Frank Ocean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/frank-ocean-we-all-try-unofficial-video/">"We All Try,"</a> Broken Social Scene's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/broken-social-scene-sweetest-kill-starring-bijou-phillips/">"Sweetest Kill"</a> starring Bijou Phillips, Bad Meets Evil's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/bad-meets-evil-fast-lane/">"Fast Lane,"</a> Pharoahe Monch and Styles P's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/pharoahe-monch-featuring-styles-p-phonte-black-hand-side-2/">"Black Hand Side,"</a> Kool Keith's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kool-keith-bushman/">"Bushman,"</a> Fabolous' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/fabolous-you-dont-hear-me-tho/">"Y'all Don't Hear Me Tho,"</a> Dom Kennedy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/dom-kennedy-grindn/">"Grind'n,"</a> Best Coast's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/best-coast-gone-again/">"Gone Again,"</a> and Katy Perry's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/katy-perry-last-friday-night-t-g-i-f/">"Last Friday Night."</a></p>
<p>In case you missed it, also check out Laws' dedication to Paul McCartney <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/justice-league-hypetrak-present-laws-paul-mccartney-yesterdays-future-mixtape"><em>Yesterday's Future</em></a>. It sure is worth it. </p>

<p>Every new week brings forth a new edition of Hypetrak's Weekly Set. KiD CuDi offered an audible taste from his forthcoming <em>2 Be Continuum</em> project with frequent collaborator Dot Da Genius. Optimistically titled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kid-cudi-dot-da-genius-perfect-is-the-word/">"Perfect Is the World,"</a> the song shows the duo's interesting approach to the rock 'n' roll genre. Redoing Arcade Fire's "Suburbs" is a bold endeavor, however Norwegian songstress Mr. Little Jeans turned in an excellent, slowed down <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/mr-little-jeans-the-suburbs-arcade-fire-cover/">rendition</a> of the epic song. While the world is still waiting for his Kanye West-sampling new single, a previously unheard song by J. Cole, titled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/j-cole-how-high/">"How High,"</a> has arrived onto the blogosphere. While there is no official word on where this song will eventually end up, avid followers of Cole's music should be satisfied with the song that honors Red and Meth's timeless same-titled cut. While Kanye West and Jay-Z's <em>H.A.M.</em> has caused mixed reactions within the industry, Alejandro Chal serves an <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kanye-west-jay-z-h-a-m-alejandro-chal-remix/">hypnotic translation </a>of the original version, adding a genre crossing dimension to the song. As one of our readership's favorites, Curren$y Spitta is a fixture on our Weekly Set lists. This is also the case with his latest joint, <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/curreny-she-dont-want-a-man/">"She Don't Want a Man."</a> This ode to the independent opposite gender heats up the anticipation of his upcoming Warner Bros. debut <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/curreny-weekend-at-burnies-track-list/"><em>Weekend At Burnies</em></a>.</p>
<p>Further highlights encompass the splendid <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/caribou-sun-pyramid-remix/">Pyramid remix</a> of Caribou's "Sun," Lloyd Banks and Loso's "<a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/lloyd-banks-featuring-fabolous-money-chase/">Money Chase,"</a> Kendrick Lamar's lyrical <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kendrick-lamar-sex-with-society/">"Sex with Society,"</a> Hotel Mexico's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/hotel-mexico-dear-les-friends/">"Dear Les Friends"</a> and Carte Blanche's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/carte-blanche-the-/">"The Molecules."</a></p>
<p>Regarding music videos, we saw great new visuals like Wale and Tiara Thomas's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/wale-featuring-tiara-thomas-the-cloud/">"The Cloud,"</a> the unofficial clip for The Weeknd's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/the-weeknd-wicked-games-unofficial-video/">"Wicked Games,"</a> and Rihanna's controversial <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/rihanna-man-down/">"Man Down."</a> Lloyd Bank and Pusha T's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/lloyd-banks-featuring-pusha-t-home-sweet-home-2/">"Home Sweet Home,"</a> KiD CuDi's Shia LaBeouf-directed <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kid-cudi-marijuana-directed-by-shia-labeouf/">"Marijuana," </a> the unofficial video to Frank Ocean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/frank-ocean-american-wedding-unofficial-video/">"American Wedding,"</a> Laws' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/laws-homeland/">"Homeland,"</a> Robyn's artistic <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/robyn-call-your-girlfriend/">"Call Your Girlfriend,"</a> Tyler, the Creator's Frank Ocean-powered <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/tyler-the-creator-featuring-frank-ocean-she/">"She"</a> and last but not least, the final cut of Kanye West's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/06/kanye-west-featuring-rick-ross-jay-z-nicki-minaj-bon-iver-monster/">"Monster."</a> Enjoy in the audio recap below!</p>

<p>Welcome to the 51st edition of Hypetrak's Weekly Set series. This time, however, we present you the most played audio and videos of the past two weeks. As you can see in the playlist below, Urban Noize's amazing mashup <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/jay-z-featuring-kanye-west-adele-never-chasing-pavement-urban-noize-remix/">"Never Chasing Pavement"</a> reigns supreme. The mix combines Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” with Jay-Z's Kanye West-produced “Never Change” which appeared on the timeless <em>The Blueprint</em> LP. Mike Posner's abilities behind the board cannot be denied. As the latest indication for his production skills, the 24-year-old serves his <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/mike-posner-the-scientist-coldplay-cover/">rendition</a> of Coldplay's "The Scientist," which offers an impressive dubstep-infused beat. J. Cole's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/j-cole-return-of-simba/">"Return of Simba"</a> – the third chapter of his popular "Simba" series - comes next. As usual, the North Carolina emcee offers outstanding work behind the mic and behind the boards. As you all have noticed, Drizzy Drake is back on the music grind again. Before packing heat with the <em>Take Care</em> intro <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/drake-dreams-money-can-buy/">"Dreams Money Can Buy,"</a> the Toronto native <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/sbtrkt-yukimi-nagano-featuring-drake-wildfire-remix/">took on</a> SBTRKT's Yukimi Nagano-assisted <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/sbtrkt-featuring-yukimi-nagano-of-little-dragon-wildfire/">"Wildfire." </a> Arguably one of the music industry's hottest newcomer, The Weeknd, has caused plenty of noise within the blogosphere and beyond. Somebody was digging deeply in the vault and brought forth a reference track from the artist, entitled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/the-weeknd-birthday-suit-drake-demo/">"Birthday Suit,"</a> that was initially meant for fellow Toronto native Drake. </p>
<p>Further highlights of the past 14 days encompass Thundercat's FlyLo-produced <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/thundercat-for-love-i-come-produced-by-flying-lotus/">"For Love I Come,"</a> Busta Rhymes' and LL Cool J's audio reunion <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/busta-rhymes-featuring-ll-cool-j-killin-em/">"Killin Em,"</a> Laws' first Paul McCartney inspired single <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/laws-dear-boy/">"Dear Boy,"</a> B.o.B's remix of One Republic's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/onerepublic-featuring-b-o-b-good-life-remix/">"Good Life,"</a> and Xaphoon Jones' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/chiddy-bang-the-good-life-xaphoon-jonesfeed-the-beat-moombahton-remix/">Feed the Beat Moombahton Remix</a> of Chiddy Bang's "The Good Life."</p>
<p>Regarding music videos, we have seen impressive delivery in the shape of Beyoncé's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/beyonce-run-the-world-girls/">"Run the World (Girls),"</a> Kendrick Lamar's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/kendrick-lamar-hiii-power/">"HiiiPoWeR,"</a> Frank Ocean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/frank-ocean-acura-integurl/">"Acura Integurl,"</a> Mac Miller's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/frank-ocean-acura-integurl/">"Wear My Hat,"</a> Swedish House Mafia's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/swedish-house-mafia-save-the-world/">"Save the World,"</a> Laws' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/laws-momma-miss-america-2/">"Momma Miss America,"</a> the Mr. Spock-assisted <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/bruno-mars-the-lazy-song-alternate-version/">alternate version</a> of Bruno Mars' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/bruno-mars-the-lazy-song/">"The Lazy Song,"</a> Grimes's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/grimes-crystal-ball/">"Crystal Ball,"</a> Justice's monumental <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/justice-civilization/">"Civilization,"</a> Is Tropical's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/is-tropical-the-greeks-video/">"The Greeks,"</a> Erykah Badu's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/erykah-badu-out-my-mind-just-in-time/">"Out of My Mind, Just In Time,"</a> and Tech N9ne's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/tech-n9ne-hes-a-mental-giant-2/">"He's a Mental Giant."</a></p>
<p>Also make sure to check out The Weeknd's all new <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/the-weeknd-rolling-stone/">"Rolling Stone"</a> and <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/four-unreleased-songs-by-the-weeknd/">four more</a> previously unreleased tunes as well as Lil Wayne's ballad <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/lil-wayne-how-to-love/">"How to Love."</a> Also don't sleep on Chiddy Bang's new mixtape <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/chiddy-bang-peanut-butter-swelly-mixtape/"><em>Peanut Butter &#038; Swelly</em></a> and Young Jeezy's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/young-jeezy-the-real-is-back-mixtape/"><em>The Real is Back</em></a>. <p>We proudly present to you the 50th edition of our beloved Weekly Sets series. While it remained absent for two months earlier this year, we certainly will continue to deliver you our weekly recap. Not only because they helped us boost 10 million plays on our <a href="http://soundcloud.com/hypetrak">SoundCloud page</a> that were surpassed last week. </p>
<p>Mayer Hawthorne resides on top of this anniversary edition with his ELO cover of <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/mayer-hawthorne-mr-blue-sky-elo-cover/">"Mr Blue Sky."</a> The tune was released a couple of days prior to the release of his excellent <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/mayer-hawthorne-impressions-free-ep/"><em>Impressions</em></a> which finds the Michigan crooner reinterpreting some of his personal favorites. You can tell by the tracklist that the musician was digging deep in his immense vinyl collection. In support of his upcoming <em>Timez Are Weird These Days</em> full-length, Theophilus London comes in at number two for his <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/theophulis-london-last-name-london/">"Last Name London."</a> After a few listens, it becomes apparent that the tune is a perfect combination the multiple sounds and elements that the talented Brooklynite has utilized in his young but already impressive career. It definitely sets the mood straight for the next chapter in his career. Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group seems to be ubiquitous these days. So comes Wale's aggressive <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/wale-featuring-meek-mill-pill-rick-ross-by-any-means/">"By Any Means"</a> featuring labelmates Meek Mill, Pill and Mr. Rozay which antes up the anticipation for MMG's forthcoming <em>Self Made Volume 1</em> compilation. Easily one of the game's most intriguing lyricists today, J. Cole continues to tease the world with his abilities with the excellent <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/j-cole-see-it-to-believe-it/">"See It to Believe It."</a> Unfortunately, there is still no definite release date for <em>Cole World</em> in sight. <p>It's Monday, so it's time for your Weekly Set fix. As you can see below, the last seven days brought forth a range of interesting audio and video releases. Plastic Plates' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/adele-set-fire-to-the-rain-plastic-plates-remix/">refix</a> of Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" certainly was one of last week's highlights. Electronica-infused beats coupled with one of the industry's strongest voices seems to be a sure shot. Spot numero dos belongs to N*E*R*D's Chad Hugo, who delivered an intriguing <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/lupe-fiasco-what-u-want-chad-hugo-remix/">rendition</a> of Lupe Fiasco's Kenna-powered "What U Want." The powerful tune appears on Fool's Gold's latest <em>Missile Command</em> compilation, so make sure to grab the piece <a href="http://www.foolsgoldrecs.com/2011/04/28/foolcast-022-missile-command/">here</a>. Last week also saw the emergence of the first single off Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"'s upcoming <em>Bad Meets Evil</em> EP. Entitled <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/eminem-royce-da-59-fast-lane/">"Fast Lane,"</a> the track does the lyrical reputation of both emcees more than justice. The Beastie Boys have already proven that they made one of this year's most impacting comebacks due to their new opus <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/beastie-boys-hot-sauce-committee-part-2-full-album-stream/"><em>Hot Sauce Committee Part Two</em></a>. One reason for this is their strong collaboration with Santigold in <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/beastie-boys-featuring-santigold-dont-play-no-game-that-i-cant-win/">"Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win."</a> Parisian beatsmith Kirikoo Des rounds up the latest top five with his excellent <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/the-weeknd-what-you-need-kirikoo-des-refix/">minimal house interpretation</a> of The Weekend's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/03/the-weeknd-house-of-balloons-mixtape/"><em>House of Balloons</em></a> cut "What You Need."</p>
<p>Further audio highlights encompass Mac Miller's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/mac-miller-talk-about/">"Talk About,"</a> the hilarious Lonely Island and Snoop Dogg get together <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/the-lonely-island-featuring-snoop-dogg-turtleneck-chain/">"Turtleneck &#038; Chain,"</a> Star Slinger's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/how-to-dress-well-ready-for-the-world-star-slinger-refix/">tuneful remix</a> of How to Dress Well's "Ready for the World," CJ Hilton's Nas-assisted <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/cj-hilton-featuring-nas-so-fresh-produced-by-salaam-remi/">"So Fresh,"</a> and Donnis's The Weekend-inspired <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/donnis-loft-music-remix/">"Loft Music."</a></p>
<p>Regarding music videos, we saw CyHi Da Prynce's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/cyhi-da-prynce-top-of-the-world/">"Top of the World,"</a> Dead Prez's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/dead-prez-the-beauty-within-2/">"Beauty Within,"</a> Beyoncé's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/beyonce-move-your-body/">"Move Your Body,"</a> Karmin's intriguing <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/karmin-6-foot-7-foot-lil-wayne-cory-gunz-cover/">rendition</a> of Weezy's "6 Foot 7 Foot," Lupe Fiasco and Skylar Grey's<a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/lupe-fiasco-featuring-skylar-grey-words-i-never-said-2/"> "Words I Never Said,"</a> Lykke Li's tipsy <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/lykke-li-sadness-is-a-blessing/">"Sadness is a Blessing,"</a> the romantic visualization of the Star Slinger edit of Gold Panda's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/gold-panda-marriage-star-slinger-remix/">"Marriage,"</a> some-behind-the-scenes impressions of M.I.A.'s never finished <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/m-i-a-xxxo-behind-the-scenes/">"XXXO,"</a> Swizz Beatz and Eve's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/05/swizz-beatz-featuring-eve-coolin/">"Coolin'"</a> reunion, Jay Electronica's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/jay-electronica-dimethyltryptamine/">"Dimethyltryptamine,"</a> Fonzworth Bentley's sun-drenched <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/fonzworth-bentley-venice-beaches/">"Venice Beaches,"</a> Incubus's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/incubus-adolescents-3/">"Adolescents,"</a> Kenna's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/kenna-chains/">"Chains,"</a> and last but not least Lil B's entertaining Justin Bieber <a href=" http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/lil-b-justin-bieber/">impersonation</a>. <p>Welcome back to our Weekly Set series. SNL Digital Short trio The Lonely Island is receiving high honors as it resides on this week's top spot. Their revamped collaboration with Justin Timberlake on <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/the-lonely-island-featuring-justin-timberlake-motherlover/">"Motherlover"</a> seems to have hit the nerves of our readers. Legendary rock outfit The National brought forth <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/the-national-exile-vilify/">"Exile Vilify"</a> – their excellent contribution for the soundtrack of the upcoming video game, <em>Portal 2</em> – and scored high with it. Bruno Mars teamed up with party experts Far East Movement to recreate their 2010 tune <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/far-east-movement-featuring-bruno-mars-rocketeer/">"Rocketeer."</a> Last week also saw the emergence of some unreleased Taylor Gang music in the shape of <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/wiz-khalifa-featuring-chevy-woods-cant-fck-wit-it-unreleased-prod-e-dan/">"Cant' F*ck With It."</a> Boasting rhymes from Wiz Khalifa and Chevy Woods, the track caused for some mixed reactions among our readership. Always consistent with his delivery of flow and selection of beats, Spitta released his excellent <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/curreny-x-alchemist-covert-coup-mixtape/"><em>Covert Coup</em></a> mixtape. <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/curreny-featuring-freddie-gibbs-scottie-pippen/">"Scottie Pippen"</a> was one adequate appetizer.</p>
<p>Further highlights include Uffie's comeback tune <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/uffie-wordy-rappinghood-produced-by-dj-mehdi/">"Wordy Rappinghood,"</a> the audio version of U2 and Jay's Auckland Newzealand performance of <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/u2-featuring-jay-z-sunday-bloody-sunday-live-in-auckland/">"Sunday, Bloody Sunday,"</a> XV's J. Cole-produced <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/xv-watch-me-go-produced-by-j-cole/">"Watch Me Go,"</a> Domo Genesis's 4/20 celebration <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/domo-genesis-cashmere/">"Cashmere,"</a> and the energetic StrobeHypnoticz refix of Deadmau5's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/deadmau5-community-nap-strobehypnoticz-remix/">"Community Nap."</a></p>
<p>The past seven days also saw some royal visuals, for instance Beastie Boys' <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/beastie-boys-make-some-noise-2/">"Make Some Noise"</a> and their equally star-studded <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/beastie-boys-fight-for-your-right-revisited-2/">"Fight For Your Right Revisited,"</a> up-and-coming Ughmerica's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/the-ughmerica-p-o-s/">"POS,"</a> Snoop Dogg and Willy Nelson's stoner <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/snoop-dogg-featuring-willie-nelson-superman/">"Superman,"</a> the unofficial, but excellent visual to Frank Ocean's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/frank-ocean-songs-for-women/">"Song for Women,"</a> Asher Roth and Nottz's <em>Training Day</em>-influenced <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/asher-roth-nottz-enforce-the-law/">"Enforce the Law,"</a> Nas and Damien Marley came correct with <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/nas-damien-marley-nah-mean/">"Nah Mean,"</a> and J*DaVeY's <a href="http://hypetrak.com/2011/04/jdavey-raincheck/">"Raincheck."</a></p>
