As predicted, Lana Del Rey's widely-celebrated debut album Born To Die lands her the No. 2 spot atop the charts after its first week of sales. Second only to the ever-popular Adele, Del Rey's project moved roughly 75,000 units during the initial seven-day period — not too shabby at all. Let's just hope she doesn't stick with this whole "nothing else to say" thing and gives us another album. But anyway, who bought a copy?

It looks like this year's Grammy festivities will be nothing short of spectacular performances - apart from Bon Iver's absence of course. After Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, Glen Campbell, Coldplay, Rihanna, Paul McCartney and Nicki Minaj, Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 have also been added to the lineup. It appears that Dave Grohl and company will share the stage with the Canadian producer in order to perform his remix of the band's song "Rope." In addition, David Guetta will also perform live with guests Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. Both performances will take place away from the ceremony itself, in a tented space that will hold up to 1,000 fans. The 54th Grammy Awards show will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles this Sunday, February 12 and will be aired on CBS.

Following the backlash from her SNL performance, a New York Post's report indicated that Lana Del Rey would cancel her previously announced spring tour. Spokesman Matt Hanks quickly denied this allegation indicating that there was never any tour in place to cancel or delay. However, SXSW has now confirmed that the Born to Die singer will not perform at the festival. In addition, Ms. Del Rey also postponed her Australian tour dates, set to take place in late February and early March. According to a press release, "Lana is looking forward to her maiden Australian visit and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused."

In 2009 and 2010, one of the biggest indie songs to hit the blogs, radio airwaves and television commercials was "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The acoustic, foot tap-inducing folk ballad helped pave the way for the success of the Los Angeles-based band and their critically acclaimed debut album, Up From Below. Over the past two and a half years since that hit stores, the 11-piece group has toured around the world, performed at huge festivals including Coachella, traveled the U.S. in classic style with Mumford & Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show on the Railroad Revival Tour, and lead singer Alex Ebert has even put out his own solo project—off of which he tapped none other than RZA to remix a song. But most importantly, as we now know, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have been in the studio recording their sophomore LP. Although it has yet to be named and no songs from it have been unveiled, the album does have a release date. You can look for it to be available through Community Music/Vagrant on May 29. Well, it looks like the wait is almost over. The presumable fan-favorite from Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative Watch The Throne album, "N****s In Pars," will finally be awarded the video treatment, as it is rumored that the visuals will be revealed by the week's end. Great news from Nile Rodgers arrive us today. The Chic frontman revealed that he is free of cancer and that he has already a great new music project on his agenda. According to his website and an interview with CultureMap, the disco legend will work with none other than Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo aka Daft Punk on their much anticipated fourth album. Accordingly, early rumors indicated that the acclaimed duo would rely on their R&B influences for the longplayer. Daft Punk are said to be working with songwriting legend Paul Williams. Today I’m going to spend some time with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo better known as Daft Punk. We’ve briefly met before when they were doing some sort of listening party in NYC back in the 90′s. The scene was chaotic and we didn’t really have a chance to have an artistic connection, except they did tell me that they were sorry about my former partner Bernard Edward’s death. And they dug CHIC. The feeling is mutual.I dig Daft Punk. When I first heard “Da Funk” I thought it was one of the grooviest records I’d heard in a long time. The song “One More Time” came out when I was on a trip to Paris and I visited Virgin records.

I almost hooked up with the guys then but I don’t remember what went wrong. “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” I simply thought was one of the coolest records of the year when I heard it.

After all these years of almost hooking up, finally Daft Punk Is Hanging at My House.

On the heels of her new single "Give Me Your Lovin'" and her much discussed Superbowl Halftime show Madonna has announced her her most extensive tour to date. According to Billboard, the Queen of Pop will launch the massive tour on May 29th in Tel Aviv, Israel and will cover 90 dates around the globe, including markets she hasn’t visited, as well as return to Australia for her first visit in over 20 years. Tickets go on sale on February 10th in Tel Aviv and the U.K., and on February 13th for North American dates via Ticketmaster and LiveNation. It appears that M.I.A.'s middle finger affair will have financial consequences for the eccentric artist. As TMZ points out, the NFL is fined by the FCC. Having learned their lesson with previous performers the NFL will forward the payment to the "Paper Planes" singer. M.I.A. signed a contract with the NFL in which "M.I.A. agreed to indemnify the NFL for any money it might be forced to pay if the FCC comes down on the Peacock Network [NBC]."

In 2004, NBC was charged $550,000 by the FCC, for Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, but that fine was thrown out by a federal appeals court.

Quite possibly one of the most scrutinized lists year in and year out, MTV has just revealed its nominations for the hottest MCs of 2011. The field has been narrowed down to 25, as it will then be chopped up to the 10 best throughout last year.
