Lil Wayne Announces Retirement on Twitter

Fans from Flying Lotus to Chance the Rapper react.

This isn't exactly something new we've heard from Lil Wayne, as the Young Money legend has been talking about retiring from the game for years, but only this time, he might be for real. In the wee hours of Saturday morning, Wayne announced his retirement, stating:

I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I'm dun.

He's likely referencing his tough, ongoing legal battle with one time business partner Birdman for $51 million back in January 2015. Fans are obviously distraught his decision to retire, including Flying Lotus who shared some words of hope for the rap legend:

How ever you're feeling about all this, know that it's ok!The feelings change and it's definitely part of the process.

Lil Wayne would eventually respond to the fans to let them know he's good for now:"I'm good ya'll don't trip."

Stay tuned.
