The Simpsons to Air an Hour-Long Hip-Hop-Themed Episode

The episode will called "“The Great Phatsby."

In their upcoming 28th season, the iconic animated sitcom is set to air an hour-long special dedicated to hip-hop entitled “The Great Phatsby.” As you may have noticed, the episode will more or less be spin-off inspired by the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby. The episode will be narrated by Homer Simpson with guest voice Taraji P. Henson playing a character named Praline, an animated take on Empire’s Cookie Lyon. The episode will also center around Mr. Burns and a hip-hop mogul named Jay G who manages to leave Mr. Burns bankrupt after partnering up with him. The special will also be a two-part episode, and as producer Matt Selman explains, it's “kind of like a two-part rap album.” The episode will air at some point in January 2017, stay tuned.
