Early last month, Donald Glover's new show for FX finally received its release date and a new trailer. Set to debut in a little less than a month's time, Atlanta has now received a set of six new teasers. Directed by acclaimed director and visual artist Hiro Murai, the vignettes are entitled Work, Close Calls, Curry, Deja Vu, Alive and Hard Day. This week's six new clips provide a greater insight into the show's protagonist Earnest “Earn” Marks as he attempts to understand and traverse the arts and culture side of Atlanta. Along with the clips, Donald Glover has also opened up more about the themes at work in Atlanta. In a new feature for The Hollywood Reporter, Glover is said to have shared the following regarding the show's underlying narrative:
"The thesis with the show was kind of to show people how it felt to be black...What was important to me was that this show was personal and had a specific take, because that's all you can really ask for from a show nowadays, is having a specific point of view on something."
Atlanta will debut on September 6. Donald Glover/Childish Gambino will also drop a new album in the near future.
