We've had glimpses of Gorillaz working on new material over the last few months, and hints that Vic Mensa is involved, but now a solid confirmation and potential release window for the project seems to have been confirmed. After running into co-creator Jamie Hewlett on the street, a fan was given an update on the album that was subsequently posted to the fan page GorillazNorthAmerica. Hewlett said that the "really f*ckin special" album "can't be rushed" and that we'd have to "wait until 2017" to hear it. We had some concrete news that Gorillaz would return last year, but this is a promising sign that they're working on what will be a massive comeback. Check out the Instagram post below.
