RZA & Interpol’s Paul Banks Become New Duo Bankz and Steelz

Wu-Tang meets 2000's rock.

A few years ago, Wu-Tang architect RZA and Interpol's Paul Banks revealed that they had been working on a musical project together. Now, three years following that news' emergence, RZA and Paul Banks have officially come together as Bankz and Steelz. The pair's debut joint single will premiere tomorrow on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 program, and comes us Bankz and Stellz installations are live in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles and New York's Orchard Street. As Pitchfork notes, RZA recalls his new project's beginnings as such:

"My manager came to me and said, 'Who do you want to do an album with?' I said, 'Well, Paul just has an energy about him. I think if we put our sandwich together it will be great. Me and Paul, we play chess together and just hang out. We went to the studio and we started writing songs and they sound very, very different than what I do, but very unique and very peculiar."
