Miley Cyrus links up with 4 Non Blondes songwriter/hitmaker Linda Perry for "Hands of Love." Composed for the upcoming film Freeheld, the song was written "immediately" after Perry saw a screening of the movie. Perry was moved by the film so much that she almost instantly had a song ready to go. After the songwriting was finalized, Perry suggested that Miley Cyrus serve as the artist set to actually perform the number. Speaking on Miley as an artist, the "Hands of Love" writer had this to say:
“She has a really raw, unique, awesome, beautiful voice, and Miley’s doing a lot of incredible things for the LGBTQ community,” Page says. “I just thought it was going to be a perfect fit. She and Linda made something really special. I kept listening to it after I heard it.”
