Fashawn unveils the video for "Higher," the second single off of his sophomore album, The Ecology, with us today. While his road to success hasn't been an easy one, the California emcee shows appreciation for the things of true value by dedicating the song to this song to his daughter Hannah who also makes an appearance alongside Exile in the uplifting clip, which was helmed by Jerome D and contains additional footage by Punit Dhesi.
"The video brings the song to life in an organic and beautiful way. There isn't enough positive images of young black men out there being fathers to their kids to begin with, especially in rap videos. I believe it's a break from the norm and a side of me of that my audience doesn't get to see everyday."
In related news, Fashawn just wrapped his promo tour in Europe and is now back on the West Coast for a mini college tour. The vinyl version of The Ecology will be available online and in stores ine the week of May 11. Stay tuned for the dates of his summer tour, which will be announced soon, and watch the clip above.
