Watch OutKast’s Reunion Set at Coachella

One of the most iconic hip-hop groups of all time has celebrated their reunion live on stage during Coachella last night. Big Boi and Andre 3000, aka OutKast, delivered live versions of their group and solo hits for over 90 minutes and also invited their friends Janelle Monae, Sleepy Brown, and Killer Mike to the stage. In addition, Future debuted his collaboration with Andre 3000 "Benz Friendz (Whatchutola)," which you can catch around the 1:07:00 mark. The duo performed inside a transparent cube center stage while their DJ, backup singers, and band stand on the wings. Inside the cube, there was circle a table, which, according to Big Boi, represents their early beginnings as they were writing rhymes at “auntie’s kitchen table” and reciting them around it. After next weekend's Coachella performance, they will embark on 40 festivals tour around the world. Watch the historic performance above and view its selist below.

    The crowd was terrible

  • nutmeg

    The show was awesome

  • Albert

    That crowd was beyond terrible.

  • Pieter Verbeek

It's not about the crowd, it's bout them, they look so fucking happy reunited on that stage man! Real shit!

  • podgyfeets

Except for the fact Andre 3000 got irritated with the crowd being so dead that he had to ask the crowd "are you alive" a bunch of times.

  • what's wrong Dre?

  • True

This why they should have done their reunion in Atlanta not fuckin Coachella

  • no1d

It's all about the crowd giving back that energy, so of course it's about the crowd. Coachella is filled with subhumans with no appreciation for music, people like you.

  • Bendik Blix

You can see the dissapointment in Andre's eyes... The crowd was all the way live when future came out on stage tho smh...

  • Ottotheowl

Yo look at all those cell phones. Smh I don't know why but I don't like that shit

  • tk

Andre 3000 looked uncomfortable to me at times. He still had a superstar presence on stage, but it felt like Big Boi carried the performance.

  • plus Janelle Monae coming on stage was GREAT!

  • TopBananas

and his levels in the monitors were getting to him too

  • Guest

Instead of fully enjoying the shit and dance and have fun, they want to share with the world that they were there. Like we give a fuck. We all watched it.

  • Justice

more like people been drugged out all day and tired as fuck from being in desert!!! Forget the crowd we all witnessed history!!

  • guy

He's timid. Big Boi and some other guys said that. He is scarred of stage.

  • chiraqqq

White people that did not grow up listening to Outkast were the majority.

  • chiraqqq

    Real fucking talk.

  • razor ramon

What kinda idiot cuts Outkast off?! Fuckin fools

  • gangstablng3

coachella where nobody goes for the music but to say "im at coachella bitch"
sometimes i just hate the west coast so much

  • Garrett Nutgrass

they are playing counterpoint in a week or two, which is like a georgia reunion pretty much

  • Sensei Swag Master Ill-tastic

Coachella ain't even a music festival that's about the music anymore as it is a gathering for fuck-boys tryna be trendy. Everybody be acting "hype" when people talking about OutKast reunion and when they do finally do, people sleeping like they received a Mike Tyson KO and you wonder why they ain't wanting to make another OutKast album.

  • bob

wow very disappointing. everything about that was disappointing.. crowd, andre 3000s performance, sound. damn

  • Pieter Verbeek

Lol you don't know me so don't judge me with stupid statements like that, if people judge others like that I'd believe people like you are subhumans.
Of course I know it's about the crowd too, if I were there I'd party the fucking roof off (a metaphorical one ofcourse) and ofcourse it's fucking sad how this crowd reacts, but it's coachella what do you expect. So back to the manner at hand.. If you look closely to the expression of their faces sometimes you can actually see how happy they look when they do certain songs together. And that's what I meant.

  • Pieter Verbeek

    P.S. It's a shame Future was involved.

  • Pieter Verbeek

P.P.S. Luckily for you and your negative vibes about this performance they will be on plenty more festivals in the near future with probably better crowds, and the thought of that gets me pretty excited

  • disqus_nkiRrRbSUe

I hope Dre ok man. I also hope he gets over whatever is holding his creative back.

  • no1d

Go read all the Outkast fan reviews of the show, everyone agrees the crowd was bullshit because they expect big lights, big EDM drops, perfectly synched climaxes over Legends spitting on a mic like Outkast. It's a damn tragedy and people like you who protect that sort of behaviour under the guise of being "positive" are just clueless shitheads. Why not accept what happened for what it is, instead of making excuses for this generations bs.

  • MrLogix

Yeah it couldn't be the fact it was 1 in the morning and those people have been standing/dancing for like 9 hours to a bunch of other artists. That is the problem with having such late head liners is no one has the energy to jump around and scream for them.

  • MrLogix

Yeah white people were to busy listening to the wiggles and nickleback. White people had no time to listen to outkast when linkenpark was on the radio. stfu with that race shit.

  • guest

straight up! cant blame coachella tho, these kids were probably 4 when ATLiens came out. also why is Big Boi dressed like some cuban dictator

  • Sensei Swag Master Ill-tastic

    On a lighter note

I have had family members die in a crash.

I had 4 of my family die in 1 crash on the way to family vacation where we were all waiting because of a drunk driver.

Was I praising the killer or saying the victims were in the wrong? To think that just because I have a funny name and some black man doing karate as my picture doesn't make me any less of a human than you are.

  • Pieter Verbeek

Well I'm so sorry for not reading them as I don't really give a fuck about Coachella since I don't even live in the states. And I also don't give a fuck about that crowd and show. I give a fuck about Outkast as I grew up with it, and it makes me happy seeing them on a stage together that's all. Go ahead, call it a damn tragedy and if you're correct I totally would agree man, thing is I don't know shit about Coachella and its 'crowd' though. I'm just positive for those two guys on stage as I show love to them, how fucking hard is that to understand?
And who the fuck are you to say that I am a 'clueless shithead' protecting this crowd? gtfo outta here man.. I'm just happy they coming to europe again, to special small-scale festivals where real fans are going to show real love. Ya damn prejudice negative shithead, like you and your opinions about 'accepting the tragedy' are making the world any better.

  • Roque

How do you not go crazy when Da Art of Storytellin starts! That crowd wasn't worthy

  • justinkchavez

have you been? everyone is there for the music. after 12 hours of shows, people get tired, especially after standing and waiting for an hour

  • gangstablng3

shut up every year jimmy kimmel sends reporters to name fake bands an watch everyone going omg im looking forward to that the most theyre my favorite an its like "really you listen to smell my farts?"

  • J W

    ...but it's true.

  • chiraqqq

    Just stating fact bro.

  • no1d

Well that's all great for you. I was more talking on the behalf of Outkast. I'm sure they were disappointed to have such a lackluster crowd for their big reunion. Musicians aren't just robots that play to the crowds whim. The crowd has to feed back that energy as a way of paying respect. It's like the code of going to a concert.
