KiD CuDi Performs “Internal Bleeding” on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’

Keeping up with his promotional mode for his role in Need For Speed, which opens in theaters this weekend, KiD CuDi stopped by The Arsenio Hall Show on Friday. The Cleveland native opened the show by performing “Internal Bleeding,” off his Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon LP before sitting down with the show's host to discuss releasing the new album as a surprise, the state of hip-hop, his personal mission as a musician, and the creative limitations of today's rap music:

“I think the braggadocio ‘Money, Cash, Hoes’ thing needs to be deaded. I feel like that’s holding us back as a culture, as black people, that doesn’t advance us in any way, shape, or form.”

Never will stop unfortunately. Blacks only know how to glorify what they never had, its a there way of saying I made it, i came from nothing, so look at me know. Thats why they wear the biggest chain or the most expensive clothes because they had absolutely nothing to begin with. But rappers reflect on a journey, from Slick rick, to Pac to Nas, to Nipsey hussle to whoever. Rap is reality. So most talk about the money and hoes they want or have. My suggestion to listeners is if you don't like hearing it then don't listen to those rappers. 95% of rappers will brag and boast period. Just listen to underground rappers who don't make money really or conscious artists. Cudi even at times talks about what he has. So if your tired of hearing it listen to Coldplay or Lorde or some shit.

Internal bleeding is hilarious title btw, its like massive irritable bowel syndrome or something and Cudi mercy cries dont help

Wait, pause, pause, pause. You're the only one pushing boundaries? EXCUSE ME, GOOD SIR. You're gonna have to look Kanye, Death Grips, The TDE movement, Childish Gambino, Drake, and a few others in the face and say that they haven't been pushing boundaries. Because, personally, I find the most recent projects of all of those artists a lot more refreshing than anything that he's done in the past three years. Maybe they still have some of the braggadocio that he apparently deplores so much, but it's a hell of a lot more progressive than hearing him sing "OOooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOOOO" for 3+ minutes.
