The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards Winners & Performances

Thanks to a quintet of awards, Daft Punk were the big winners of the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards: album of the year, best electronic/dance album and best engineered album for Random Access Memories and best pop duo/group performance for "Get Lucky," featuring Pharrell Williams. The song also snatched the Record Of The Year trophy. Taking four trophies early on, including best rap album for The Heist along with best rap performance and rap song for "Thrift Shop" at the pre-telecast ceremony, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had a big night as well. Justin Timberlake, earned a pair of early GRAMMYs as well -- best R&B song for "Pusher Love Girl" and best music video for "Suit & Tie" -- an award that goes to director David Fincher. Another big star of the night was Lorde, who nabbed the Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance awards for "Royals".

Macklemoore won best rap album... Can't say I'm surprised but fuck am I disappointed.

Burn these fuck page right now.

  • fuck awards ceremonies

at the end of the day it doesn't matter how many awards macklemore gets, he won't make the same cultural impact that kendrick makes with a verse let alone an album

  • fuck awards ceremonies

but the allah pharrell won best producer and for get lucky so niggas weren't completely cheated

  • Mah

    King Kendrick.

  • Zach

Macklemore is doing amazing things for the world though, just the fact that he made "Same Love" is enough reason for anyone to at least respect him

  • AudialFuture

Yo I'm a bit pissed too, but I think Macklemore has his own way of making a cultural impact. (Same Love anybody?) On the other hand, his music isn't "traditional rap music" so the win is a bit out of left field. I do think Kendrick should have definitely won the Rap award because he also makes a strong cultural impact and raps 1000x better than Macklemore. But I guess the Grammy's wouldn't still be hot if they didn't surprise us every now and then. :P

  • thib

oh god why i just... wow kanye west shouldve been there to run up on a nigga fucc it lol

Then give him a fuckin nobel peace prize, not best rap album. The fact is hip hop fans dont listen to Macklemore.

  • MAX

    How wrong are you??

    OVER 9000%

  • MAX

Mackalemore is more of a Pop Rapper and he'll make more of a difference because he talks about more real stuff than Kendrick Lamar does. Plus, Kendrick is waaaaay less likely to have any kind of backwards bigot listen to him.

  • Herrmann Hinz

  • thib

    more real my ass bruh

  • fuck the grammys

  • I think that they both will make a cultural impact nonetheless. It doesn't matter about the grammies either way. They both make good music. Kendrick is most definitely a better lyricist and a hip hop artist but Macklemore also makes good music in his own way. I don't think hip hop is the genre but that's why a genre is too restricting. Macklemore even said that Kendrick got robbed after he won.
