UPDATE: Kanye West Spoke at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Starts Design Lecture Series

It looks like Kanye West is embarking on another tour these days. While his Yeezus Tour resumed in Philadelphia on Saturday, he gave a talk at the Harvard Graduate School of Design today. According to DONDA's creative director Virgil Abloh, the session was part of the "DONDA design lecture series." DONDA has been responsible for the artwork on releases such as Yeezus, Pusha T's My Name Is My Name, 2 Chainz' B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, Lil Wayne's I Am Not a Human Being 2, and more. There are no more details available at this moment but we sure will keep you posted.

UPDATE: A video of his lecture has emerged online and can be viewed here. In addition, a transcript has also surfaced and can be viewed here. Pitchfork has also pointed out a couple of quotes from Kanye:

"I really do believe that the world can be saved through design."

"I believe that utopia is actually possible, but we're led by the least noble, the least dignified, the least tasteful, the dumbest, and the most political."

yea but could you come up with it? I doubt it.

  • Yuck

Then simply post a design house that's putting

Dont agree with 'thatguy' and his statement, but this example doesnt exactly prove him wrong.

Anyone with any knowledge in photoshop can take these elements and put them together in a fan art kinda way like this.

Their best example of work would probably be in the single titles for 'I Don't Like', 'Clique', etc. They created a unique face for anything GOOD Music related. As soon as you saw it, you knew it involved someone from their camp.

why didnt you then? that's the difference about design, Having the initial idea to start with! anybody can copy something once its done but that idea is nothing anybody else could think of.

  • Umm

When you say their covers look like "random tumblr shit," you do have to note that the "tumblr shit" looks the way it does because of the covers coming out first and establishing a precedent (at least, that's what I assume). I won't argue with the idea that he could do better though (on some of them, at least).

your comment is pointless and basically proves my point except for me having shitty work, although i have a real job that pays me really well i dont sit around playing with paint all day being pore but that doesnt mean i dont have talent so shut your hatin ass up if this shit was made by any college student in a art class it would get harshly critiqued and never get any real recognition
