With each brand new day, it seems like we get another rapper's opinion on Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse, and today the trend continues as Drake is the latest artist mentioned in the song to speak up on it. In addition to covering Billboard Magazine's latest issue, Drizzy spoke with the publication and shared his two cents on the controversial verse:
“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” Drake says of the verse, which has so far inspired responses from A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, former Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson and too many others to count. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”
I looks like Drake wasn't phased by Kendrick's comments, so it doesn't seem like he'll be in any rush to respond with a song of his own. You can check out an excerpt of Drake and Billboard's interview by clicking here, and for the full cover story you'll have to pick up an issue when they hit newsstands on September 7. Drake's upcoming album Nothing Was The Same is set to release September 24.
