Maybach Music Group artist Wale released his latest album, The Gifted, this past Tuesday and if the projections are correct, it looks to be topping the charts next week. Based off of one-day estimates gathered upon its release, The Gifted is expected to sell anywhere between 140 - 160,000 copies its first week. Numbers like these would make it not only the top-selling rap album, but the number one album in the country, period. With support from J. Cole and Drake, both of whom tweeted about buying the album, and with this week's top 3 albums being hip-hop (Kanye West's Yeezus, J. Cole's Born Sinner, and Mac Miller's Watching Movies With The Sound Off), it surely comes as no surprise that another rap album would top the charts.
