I thought The.Dream was on this song...

Justin timberlake is my dream ;-)
    So he is the dream!

It's funny that if you study Kurt Cobain, Jay-Z represents everything he was against. SMH he gets permission to use these lyrics but Dave Ghrol can't even perform a Nirvana song.

  • Brian Page

People and life in general are multi faceted. Just because he doesn't represent everything that Cobain was about, doesn't mean they don't share some similarities. Jay-Z's been around the block, I'm pretty sure he knows up from down by this point.

  • Izzy_Ballin

It's fucked up how Courtney Love is representing Kurt's legacy. She is sponging off of him. Jay-Z using a Nirvana lyric is like Bieber using a Bob Dylan lyric.

  • Brian Page

....how are you okay with being so narrow-minded?

  • Izzy_Ballin

This dude Brian Page sounds angry. Bro, you 20 plus years old sleeping on Jay-Z bedroom sheets. Listen to Nirvana's albums and pay attention to their lyrics and you'll come up with the same conclusion as me. I know it might hard to do, because you're use to listening to simplistic Jay-Z music, but try.

  • Josh Rosenfield

You guys seriously need to get over Nirvana. Jay-Z is just as talented and musically relevant as Cobain, probably even more so.

Agree. If he didn't kill himself, you wouldn't be on his dick so hard. There, I said it.

  • Yuck

    He's right,

It's not that they don't seamlessly agree with
one another; its that they are both the antithesis
    of the other.

It's that much of the struggle that Cobain dealt
with was his utter contempt for becoming a
hero to the same people he was fighting. He
    absolutely DESPISED it.

Here, you have a man, Jayz, who'd go so
far as to shoot his very own blood brother for
interfering in his monetary gain vs Cobain
who'd take his own life as an inability to cope
with it. That's not just different - that's opposite.

But to lifeless 'Johns', wisdom like that seems
    to eternally escape them.

when you kill yourself you loose the right to control who uses your music i think. im sure he thought of that before he died, which is basically giving permission to anyone.
