Azealia Banks – Yung Rapunxel

All recent drama aside, it's time for some new music from Azealia Banks. After sharing the "terrifying artwork earlier this week, the Harlemite now unleashes her new single "Yung Rapunxel." The hard-hitting Lil Internet-produced tune serves anything an Azealia Banks fan could ask for. Uptempo rhythm, check. Heavy bass, check. The eccentric artist also shared the lyrics to the song, so make sure to go here in order to sing along. So tune in below and get prepared for her forthcoming debut album Broke With An Expensive Taste.

There are good things about Azealia. I like this screaming hook thing. But the production is gar-bage.

Issue is other cultures have scales and harmonic systems of their own, they just aren't taught. Unless someone studied music many theory, and in a westernized college (which many musicians and many more pop musicans have not), then they just have an ear for music and what emotionally captures people, and aren't necessarily using ideas from those "old, musty europeans." It's just that mainstream culture, as of today, is eurocentric. That said, yes most musical styles and genre's are derived from originally folk and marginalized musical subsets (like techno and blues), but "white people" have done the same thing, just mostly these days it's been stolen from minority groups like african americans (chiefly), africans, indians, and arabian music, etc. It's a fluid back and forth transfer of culture, and everyone's stealing from everyone. Yin/Yang, homeostasis, equilibrium and balance throughout the universe blah blah blah
