Nearly a year ago, we posted up the free debut album from Troy NōKA, a name we hadn't heard much of prior. When doing so, we learned of his roots producing on Frank Ocean's nostalgia, ULTRA.—he crafted "LoveCrimes" and "Dust," in case you're wondering—and since then, we've seen him get behind the boards for Miguel on his song "Broads" and team up with Dom Kennedy on a few occasions. But with a new solo project on the way by the name of Love.Fear.Pianos, NōKA's focus is on his own career as a recording artist. Today, we present you the first single from it, "Dollars Make $tatus Change." The thought-provoking song was written and produced by the multi-talented rapper, singer and musician, and is accompanied by a monochrome video directed by NōKA himself that matches visually what the song portrays lyrically. Give it a watch and listen up top and let us know your thoughts on this modern day Renaissance man in the comments below.
