Kicking off the the new year in the right direction, Kendrick Lamar drops off the visuals for his Hit-Boy-produced track "Backseat Freestyle." Keeping his "Eiffel Tower" lyric in mind, Kendrick hits up Paris, France so viewers can get a better picture of the size of the monument before giving us a taste of his life in Compton.     Either the music videos or the short film will be separate representations of kendrick's body of work or kendrick needs to get a different director and dp. I hope its not just me who thought this is not at all what i imagined the music videos to visually look like whilst i was listening to the song. Kendrick dad is definitely not what i imagined him to look like, all golded up and shit with a compton snapback on the fuckkkk! and sherane, nicee but the fuckkkkk where did that come from, those interludes were just straight wack in terms of the narrative! however, still a dope video thou, just not what i expected.

    i thought it was only me.. the aesthics for all of kendricks music videos have been "c" average. the dude dropped a classic album, add a classic and top notch short film and music videos. kendrick would make his mark in all history books. come on now kendrick, drop jerome from our videos.

    I was just thinking full colour would of been better, with him actually rapping in the backseat of a car with his boys (TDE) , then with it like skipping to show scenes to make a story and occasionally cutting back to him rapping in the car, and with him having fun while rapping (smile on his face kind of) abit like a scene when everyone is in the car in 8 Mile

    It's an implicit comparison b/w this video, lead video from widely acclaimed gkmc and ASAP Rocky's new lead video for his overly hyped, yet to be seen (acclaim), album LLA. His was overly ambitious for a mediocre song in my opinion. I think te comparison is fair since they are on a song together, be it a weird radio pushed one in fuckin problem, I ne'er really got why Kendrick was on that, I mean I do but when you compare the two one shouldn't be on the others songs.
