Jay-Z Contributing to ‘Annie’ Soundtrack

Upon news of an upcoming theatrical interpretation of "Annie," it appears not only will Jay-Z serve as executive producer alongside Will Smith, but the hip-hop mogul will also be contributing to the Annie soundtrack. Entertainment Weekly also reports the project will have a “full dose of modern music influences” while the Annie theatrical show will release in 2014. Above is Jay's "Hard Knock Life" record just for reference; he's certainly come a long way from just sampling Annie. Stay tuned for more details.

    I don't understand why everyone seems to think sampling annie was a bad idea? It's a prettyunexpected thing for a rapper to sample, and it makes for a pretty good beat. And stop saying Jay-Z sampled or any other rapper sampled. They usually don't. The producer does that...
