2012 welcomed a new niche in the live show category. From making beats for Dipset and a host of East Coast hip-hop rappers to the release of crossover hip-hop electro album Electronic Dream, araabMUZIK took the art of beat-making on MPC controllers to the stage by ingeniously mixing precision drums with a host of samples that transformed him into a festival mainstay and a producer unbounded by genre. Taking anywhere between two and four MPC 'Renaissance' controllers to the likes of Coachella, Tokyo and London, araabMUZIK has given revelers far and wide an education of the MPC like no other. As well as live performances, the Rhode Island native has racked up production credits with A$AP Rocky, Swizz Beatz, Danny Brown, Theophilus London, Diplo, Skrillex and more. During his recent stop in London, HYPETRAK TV sat down with the producer prior to his show at Brixton Academy, where he opened for dance music icons The Prodigy. Watch the clip above for an insight on araabMUZIK’s musical origins, his influences, scoring commercials and films, and what he has in store for 2013.
