Stemming from a roughly $1.5 million debt, the Prime Minister of Funk himself, George Clinton, has subsequently lost the rights to four of his songs: “Hardcore Jollies,” “The Electric Spanking of War Babies,” “Uncle Jam Wants You" and “One Nation Under A Groove.” Hendricks & Lewis now obtain the ability to utilize the audio in whatever way they see fit and of course rake in the coinciding profits. The debt was originally issued by the court three years ago, as $340,000 had been paid since then.

you know, with the amount of college loan debt i have (98% of which i have NO idea how i'm going to pay back), i think if i was him, i'd be in the same position.

hate this shit. a lot of artists from back when lost rights to their songs just from not reading the fine print to record companies. we are so lucky now with the internet most don't realize. sucks to see someone else profit off your creativity.
