Although some of you might not be aware of it, but you sure are familiar with the Menahan Street Band. Their music has been sampled by illustrious folks like Jay-Z (“Roc Boys”), Curren$y ("Flying Iron") and KiD CuDi ("Solo Dolo"). The Brooklyn-based instrumental band, composed of members from the Dap-Kings, Antibalas, Budos Band, and The Expressions, has released their new album, The Crossing, a few weeks ago. As one of the most solid music releases in recent months, it is only right that the LP's lead single, "Lights Out," receives the visual treatment. The horn-infused tune is accompanied with some vintage boxing clips that perfectly match the record's vibe. Support on iTunes.
