Indie rock collective Two Door Cinema Club unveils the official visual for their latest single "Sleep Alone." The track itself was inspired by lead singer Alex Trimble's troubled, drug-induced dreams, as he smoked cannabis to help him sleep when he returned from tour, which led him having not so comfortable dreams.
"I have a terrible time sleeping when I get off tour," he said. "It's horrible. So I was smoking a little bit every night before I went to bed and it was really influencing what happened when I was asleep.
I ended up having these really crazy dreams. I started reading about dreams and got really interested in lucid dreaming when you have full control over your dreams – you realise you're dreaming, but within your dream it also feels like the real world. There's a little of that in the song, but I never achieved it."
Accordingly, the visual companion is one trippy ride which finds the band playing as part of a dream sequence and follows Trimble falling from a skyscraper on his bed and being chased by a train on the gliding piece of furniture. Off of their upcoming album Beacon, which is due September 3.
