According to HipHop DX, Young Money emcee Drake will be releasing a new single featuring the vocals of Aaliyah at this year’s OVO Festival, taking place this Sunday, August 5 in Toronto, Canada. Sources close with the situation are also saying Drizzy will also be executive producing Aaliyah's first posthumous album as well:
In late March, Drake hinted to Tim Westwood that he had some “special things” related to Aaliyah in motion. “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon,” he said. “Just some special things. Just gave you that, just a little. Because I said, I’m with Westwood, so I can’t not. But great things, great things for music, period.”
It's already known that Drake has a portrait of the songstress tattooed on his back, and having already sampled Aaliyah’s “At Your Best (You Are Love)” for his track “Unforgettable,” it'll be interesting to see how everything turns out. We'll be sure to keep you up to date as more information is released.
