By Richard Brooks / News / August 31, 2012 / 2497 Views

With the news about Aaliyah's posthumous album dying down as of late, today we bring you some interesting information in regards to the upcoming project. Aaliyah's uncle and former manager Barry Hankerson has taken to social media and shared what is rumored to be the cover art for the future album. The founder of Blackground Records took to his Twitter and shared along with the photo the following tweet saying:

Aaliyah posthumous 2013 16 unreleased tracks produced by @Drake @OVO40 " Enough said" #TeamAaliyah RT/.\

The cover features an image of what looks to be the singer from her video for "Rock The Boat," as she's swimming upwards, along with a modified version of her "/.\" logo.  No words as to a name for the upcoming 16-track album, set to be produced by Drake and Noah "40" Shebib, but we'll be sure to notify you as more information is released. Let us know your thoughts on the artwork down below.

I'm not sure who the artist is who "claimed" to do this, but the apparent cover artwork is merely an altered version of Toronto artist Tone Burke's illustration. You can check out the original artwork below for comparison.

  • No Love

If this is used it will be a straight disrespect to the original artist who put his love into it and there will be a lot of upset people who wont stand behind it. This is a stolen piece and if none of you realize that then none of you really appreciate the true value of love and respect that REAL artists have for Aaliyah and everything she stands for and that is when yall should just quit and get into another career. Love and respect Drake and those behind the project but I don't think I could respect any of them after this. Hopefully yall realize the truth and where this came from and correct it. #Tone @Originaltone
