It appears that we might see Andre 3000 on the big screen portraying Jimi Hendrix in the legendary guitarist’s biopic, All Is By My Side, after all. The Irish Film & Television Network confirms that the project is currently in pre-production in Wicklow, with principal photography set to begin in three weeks time in Dublin and Wicklow.
All Is By My Side will be co-produced by Irish producer Tristan Orpen Lynch for Dublin-based production company Subotica Entertainment alongside ‘Donnie Darko’ director Richard Kelly’s Darko Entertainment and Britain’s Matador Pictures. The three companies will produce the movie under the banner of Watchtower Film Productions, with offices based out of Ardmore Studios.
News that Andre 3000 was casted to a biopic detailing the life of Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Guitarist of All Time” arrived one year ago but have soon been debunked. Next, the project was blocked but it is back on and will begin shooting in Ireland this month.
All Is By My Side will document 1966-1967. It was during this period where Hendrix’s was discovered in a New York club by Keith Richards’ girlfriend who introduced him to his manager, Chas Chandler. Chandler then flew Hendrix while he put together one of the best rock debuts of all time, Are You Experienced?
