Hypetrak TV: Wale

Wale’s rap career has taken its fair share of twists and turns since his first mixtape Paint A Picture dropped back in 2005. He was construed to be a representative in the new class of stylish, trendy and cool rappers alongside the likes of Kanye, KiD CuDi and Big Sean. Album sales for his debut LP Attention Deficit didn’t meet expectations and the D.C. native’s career seemed to be in limbo for a while. All that changed with his latest album, Ambition, which is now on the verge of hitting gold status. Wale sat down with Hypetrak TV to discuss about how his relationship with Maybach Music Group and specifically Rick Ross came about, what his ‘Ambition’ in life is, the XXL Freshman Class of 2012, the demographic groups he is addressing in his lyrics, and more.
Ambition is available now on iTunes.
