Andre 3000 ends speculation of an OutKast reunion

In an interview with GQ, Andre 3000 opened up about his fears, career and plans for the future. Most noteworthy throughout the discussion is that he expressed no plans to reunite with Big Boi for an OutKast album anytime soon. Although disappointing, but not a definite no, he indicated his intentions of releasing his long-awaited solo album, which is yet to be titled, before the end of the year.

There’s been a lot of talk on the Internet about an OutKast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another OutKast album. There’s a lot of music on the horizon. I’ve been living off the excitement of new artists. I’ve been privileged to have these new artists kind of reach out and grab back and say, “Hey, Andre, we want you on this song.” So I’ve been taking those calls and for the last two years, I’ve been doing collaborations. So these new artists have kind of been keeping me alive. I’ve just really been feeding off of that and this year I think I’m planning to do a solo project. I don’t know when it will come out, but hopefully it’ll come out this year. As far as OutKast, I really don’t know if or when that will happen.

Honestly, we don`t NEED another Outkast album. The discography speaks for it`s self and is amazing. If Andre did do a solo project, that`d be amazing. The Love Below was siiiiiick!

Cosign... I think people are always focused on the past product even after the artists have moved on to what they consider to be bigger and better things. Outkast was dope but both Big and Andre will be dope on their own as well.

Man I love Outkast, Andre more so than Big Boi but I have love for Sir Lucious as well. I respect their creative choices and I would never want my favorite artists to do something they weren't feeling. Respect respect respect. Still always excited to hear a guest appearance until we get the whole thang.

I'm torn whether to love/hate this news. I guess new Andre is new Andre, either way.
