By Jonathan Sawyer / Tracks / January 13, 2012 / 2161 Views

Presented as the last offering before tomorrow's release of his much-anticipated Habits & Contradictions project, Schoolboy Q lets loose an undeniably smooth cut, featuring fellow young guns Dom Kennedy and Curren$y. The slowed-down track highlights a rather different sound than we are accustomed to from one of hip-hop's go-to producers Lex Luger. Press play below and look out for Habits & Contradictions tomorrow.

hahaha. just blaze is dope, he's had some great beats (namely: ghostface "the champ", jay "public service announcement", dip set "i really mean it", the new j. electronica shit) but he isn't setting trends and flipping shit the way lex is. jb started that whole high pitched, super shiny, soul sampling steez that became the sound for dip set. that production style also really influenced kanye's earlier production. i don't see jb having the same sort of influence or producing anything that really stands out. that's just me though. also, recovery was really, really wack.
