Common – Stay Schemin (Remix) (Drake Diss)

There seems to be no let up going into 2012 in the Drake vs. Common saga, with the latter promptly jumping on Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin” in response to subminal disses from Drake in the original version.

“My Motto is/Chicago bitch/everybody know you sweet/ what the problem is/Don’t play dumb I’m the one that acknowledged it/ Son of a bitch I imagine what your father is/ She said how you make your opponent the rapper of the moment/the style he don’t own it/acting all hard when he hardly like that/You gonna mess around and make me catch a body like that/owww

    First off, when did Drake ever put out a "street" persona... the dude's the epitome of getting in touch with your emotions, wtf are you guys talking about? This isn't about bein' hard or calling out a fake thug.

    This is an old man hatin' on someone in the game being successful right now. Drake did/said absolutely nothing to provoke Sweet. Yet Common felt the need to attack the man out of nowhere?

    I respect Common, but this publicity stunt man...

    no idea why a mc like common is wasting his time on drake. good diss, weak agenda. but even the hipsters and hypebeast kids in chicago know that common used to bang real hard. he's a lot harder than his music. and he never made a rap career off that. way too adult for that. either way. drake couldnt fuck with common in a real beef. and birdman has always just been hella wack so he can't even speak on the so called issue.

    Alright picture this. You're Common, but your not famous, you're just a regular dude from the South Side who has beef with this crew called Young Money. Pretend YMM aren't rich or famous either. You run into 4 of them in a dark alley and shit is about to jump off. (For argument's sake, lets also pretend nobody has a weapon). Who is gonna win? Well let's see... 

    You got Lil Wayne who is about 5' 1'', 120lbs and most likely heavily sedated on cough syrup. You got Birdman who looks like he's about 50 yrs old and has been eating mac & cheese for the last 3 decades straight. Rick Ross might try to jump in too, but dude has had some real life health issues, most likely related to being obese. Then you got Drake. And let's be real here. It's not like Canada is known for being the most hood place in the world. Plus Drake is just not a gutter, street dude. He's not the kind to get his hands dirty.

    So you're Common, remember? South Sider, went into battle with Ice Cube, the original gangster and came out without a real scratch. Sure you went a little crunchy, vegan, backpack rap for awhile, but you got your head straight and also started working out hard in the process. You started chilling with 'yeezy & jigga and only got better at your craft. Now you're combat ready, mentally and physically. Running into these rag tag dudes in the alley is probably the best thing that happened to you all night.

    ya niggas is funny fam. most of you niggas dont even know common, ya to  caught up trying to live vicariously trough drake with all his female relationships. my nigga common has two classic hip-hop albums under his nose(Be,Like Water for Chocolate), so far drake has none. Anyone with a decent rational mind knows drakes history, the dude isnt fooling anyone out in Toronto, because everyone out there knowsss(emphasis) his business (Degrassi, Rich Background). So please i know ya'll love hip hop, some would rather appreciate a new age rapper who technically has evolved the game, whether thats good or not we wont know anytime soon, but forreal background wise Common would murk Ol'Canadian Dry.     Commons one of the last real rappers that rap about life raps about things that have meaning something that hip hop lost over the years, he's a peice of history, if anybody has a right to diss any one it would be common he earned his name a credibility and experience, drake hasn't yet

    ya"ll need to do some research on  ya boy Common. Gang Affiliated? the nigga might be from the south side but his mom was a doctor, his dad was a youth counselor, and he went to a private school on the richer side of chicago. Just being from the southside doenst make your hard, hood, or gangsta. Common is a good rapper, but it's all you backpackers who are making it seem like everything he has ever done is great. This remix for example was awful. Common was flowing awfully on this beat, but drake"s verse was smooth as hell. And mad people are bringing up how common dissed cube with the bitch in yoo, and keep tellin drake to watch out. That song sounds like more backpacker music. And anyway look up what drake did to aristo. Bottom line is Common is an excellent poet, but his poetry shit doesnt alway fit well over his beats. drake however has a much better flow which people in this day and age are going to respond to more, for it sounds better.

    lol. one bad album doesn't make you irrelevant. it will hurt sell sale thats about it. Common is a good artist and lyrically better than 'Aubs' lol. That is that.

    One thing that I personally like about this beef is that he is calling him out on soft stuff. I mean really Drake 'catching bodies'? and I like Drake's music. I think this is good because everyone is becoming okay with people putting out whatever they want, music wise and everyone being to buddy, buddy. So long as this beef sticks to music which it will. I think it is good for hip hop.

    Bottomline, I'm not mad that drake rhymes about being hard cause I don't think where you come from determines if its acceptable for someone to act hard, Its about if you're really about what you say. Which we will never know until drake actually kills someone haha. He definitely didn't come up with a style though.
    Regardless, Drake is DOPE but so is Common. No matter how old he is. He's a rapper, not a fuckin model. Age means nothing
