Cee Lo Green angers fans by changing lyrics to John Lennon’s “Imagine”
by Jonathan Sawyer / News / January 3, 2012 / 939 Views

Upon performing in New York's Time Square for New Year's Eve, Cee Lo Green took on John Lennon's classic record "Imagine." The only problem, however, was that the Goodie Mob legend altered the lyrics just a bit. Instead of singing "nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too," Cee Lo attempted a more politically correct remixed variation by saying "nothing to kill or die for, and all religion's true." This, of course, enraged an onslaught of music purists and many Lennon fans, who took to Twitter in bashing Green for his lyrical changes. See an edited video of the performance below.

I dont think a real Lennon fan wouldn't take issue with it.

I'm not a real Lennon fan, but I still feel a little iffy about changing a man's words to mean almost the exact opposite of their intentions.

But this shit is old news anyway. Why bother comin to a music blog if it's gonna be 3 days late?
