Birdman speaks on Drake and Common beef
By Jonathan Sawyer / Interviews / January 10, 2012 / 4813 Views

Upon Common letting loose a followup Drake diss yesterday with his "Stay Schemin'" remix, a big player from Drake's camp, Birdman, stopped by Big Boy's Neighborhood where he was expectantly asked about the situation. Look and listen above, as one of the faces of YMCMB speaks on the current beef and his hands-off approach.

But real talk.... It doesn't matter. Common and Drake or whoever needs to drop the beef. Music is about the people and is for the people. Making money off of diss records is a frown face in my book.

  • :l

Smoked too much weed before your frontal lobe developed, Baby.

  • Chillbro

shut up "guest" hip hop was built off of battle rapping which a diss record really is only difference is its not all done on the same song

  • J86ant

Diss me and never hear a reply for it - Drake

    Lying ass

Some people don't understand that Hip Hop is build off of cyphers and beef. Think about it... back then when you were mad at someone you made music about it rather than shooting them up (until you had to shoot them up)

Grab your glocks when you see tupaaaacccc

Hey "bro", I'm Chill. This is an "opinion". I'm not insulting anyone or making rude remarks to anyone like you. And yes, I agree with your comment but in today's hip hop, we don't need GREAT artists like Common or Drake making diss records. If they're doing this just for money, it a frown in my book (<-- that's an opinion if you didn't recognize).

  • Guest

How was that relevant...? Oh never mind.

  • Torosnegros

Picking on each other like bitches is manly?  It's no more manly that presidential candidates making fun of each other.  But hey, if you think whining and nitpicking is cool.......

I've been quoting this all week, son.

Beef in hip-hop has resulted in some of the best records being produced. Competition makes rappers step up their game.

Am I the only one that can't stand listening to this illiterate bastard? How is he making millions of dollars rhyming when he can barely speak in full sentences.

  • Thetallkev91

That time is gone though. When was the last time Beef  produced a great record?

  • Thetallkev91

For real though. When is the last time a Diss record had any effect on anything. The tape that launched 50s career? Diss records have been super weak compared to the early shit.

  • Chillbro

shut up isn't a rude remark i assume your a grown man but besides that when i look at diss records i don't look at them as who would make more money off of it, i look at it as, I challenge your lyrics not i challenge your record sales, the idea of money having anything to do with it is the fault of others because they look at beefs like whoever made it out with the most money is the winner, lyrics greater than anything ALWAYS

  • Chillbro

i'm not saying this is going to launch anyones career i'm just saying its good for a little competition it ups the ante, nowadays everyone is all buddy buddy, thats why they release bullshit music and feel it is acceptable i.e. Young Money

  • watitdo

people also enjoy soulja boy. big boy, "best belie dat"

  • Woah

Commons daughter said Drake was the greatest ever. few months later, we have this.

  • Guest

And I see where you are coming from. But I don't think its necessary for these artists to start any beefs.  But I guess what it is, is what it is.
