Jay-Z and Kanye West perform “N****s In Paris” a record seven times during Detroit show
By Aymen Ahmed / Live / November 28, 2011 / 6769 Views

Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne tour has almost become synonymous with their multiple performances of "N****s In Paris" at any given show. The ante was raised even further last night in Detroit when the pair performed the song no less than seven times, having delivered it six times in Boston on November 21st and five in Miami last week. Continuing to indicate that one of 2011's biggest tracks is well on its way to 'timeless classic' status.

a 'record'? this hardly means anything. everyone can set up their own records and topple them with ease. "I brushed my teeth a record 4 times this morning."

WTT is great and the song is a banger, and I'm glad they're having fun, but blogs like this acting as if it's a momentous occasion to play niggas in paris 7 times need to do some better research and come with something actually momentous.

    well said!

  • Jay-Z

it's pretty obvious within the body of the post that the record is obviously referring to the number in relation to previous dates within the tour, and with that it obviously does have meaning by declaring it a 'record'. Smart ass...

i think non-black journalists/reporters should be able to write 'niggas in paris.'  it's the name of a song.  it's in quotation marks.  you're not saying it out loud.

i feel a certain kind of way every time i see 'n***** in paris'

    just my .02

as far as the post, 7 times is excessive.  i don't see how the crowd that paid upwards $200 doesn't walk out when 7 out of 15 songs are the same fuckin' song

Do you really think they only performed 15 songs?... Cmon man...

Man i wish i was there

  • Guest

i think the point is that, even at the 7th repeat, the crowd still liked it

I was there in Boston is was 7 times. We broke the 'record', Detroit tied it. They did it one full song w/ breakdown, then came out for an encore and played it another 6 times (verses). It sounds excessive reading it 7 times, but when you are there you want them to go for 8 lol...

I dont think Hype Trak is pointing out that its a record to play it over n over.  Its pointing out that they know how to host a show, and play into the crowds hype. (pun not intended)

I think its fucking awesome that they are able to do something different for a live show, Instead of just playing through a setlist and being done.

They are trying to appeal on a theatrical level,  Building suspense, Creating a level of drama that isnt matched.  This is news.  This is awesome. Stop Hating.
