Asher Roth signs to Def Jam

A Twitter conversation between Elliott Wilson and Def Jam's Shawn Pecas revealed that Asher Roth has signed to Def Jam. Although he is still operating under the Universal umbrella, it remains to be seen how the legendary hip-hop label will affect his output. The Pennsylvanian emcee will also release a new album in 2012 whereas his Pabst and Jazz project will hit iTunes on December 21. Share your thoughts below.

    "I Love College" was a track only done to try and get the masses to go out and check his album. Just like every other artist trying to come up, sometimes your gotta do a catchy song to create buzz.

    Great news. I absolutely hated "I Love College" but over the years I've come to enjoy almost every freestyle Asher Roth has put out and he is now one of my favorite artists. Definitely excited to cop Pabst & Jazz too.
