Lil B – Trapped In Prison
by Davis Huynh / Music / June 30, 2011 / 2739 Views

Lil B aka the Based God unleashes his latest track just in time for his new album controversially titled I'm Gay. Regardless of what the naysayers say, Lil B still firmly proclaims "I'm very gay, but I love women. I'm not attracted to men in any way. I've never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay, I'm so happy" during a recent interview with MTV. His latest album is out now on iTunes.

Brilliant strategy: release complete hyped up crap music for 2 years and then come up with something mediocre so people think it's genius.

I need you younger fans to help me out. I like Lil B, he brought something to the game that hasn't been done since the passing of ODB just being wild and saying whatever you want to. We need more colorful artist like that. Now my question to you young heads. When Lil B goes into his serious songs, do you take him as serious, as you would take let's say a J.Cole or Kendrick Lamar?

I asked that because if I'm an artist, who created his own lane of BASED music, got all kinds of crazy fans off the insane stuff I do, why switch and jump in a lane, that is already jammed up with rappers, who can put their serious thoughts together better than me? I need understanding from a younger perspective, maybe I don't see what ya'll see. All I see is him trying to force us to believe he's lyrically nice. NO HE ISN'T. I'm sorry I can't co-sign. I don't care if 10th wonder or any other producer, decide to give him a track, he's not lyrically nice. He needs to get back in his lane and finish what he started, if not, mark my words, you will see somebody come and take his whole base style to another level and Lil B will be a memory.

That's the point I'm trying to make. Lil B should have kept going with the based music he's killing them in that department. Now you want to be serious. (Calls JAY-Z) LIL B IS TRYING TO KICK KNOWLEDGE AGAIN.

@ PartyMan ... Whats Up Im 21, and i just recently started to like Lil B, my buddy has been based a lil longer then me [hehe] But as far as can see Based just means positive/ positive things ... so like yea alot of BG's track are less then stellar but when he comes with it hes positive and its actually somewhat good... He's true to himself and its refreshing to hear a different perception ... Now I realize [ and i believe most Based Fans and Lil B himself, do too] is that he's not the best rapper... But he is doing him.... and he is radiating love to everyone.... And stays positive when everyone is trying to knock him  .... Its more then the music [cliche i know] but hes postive and says what he thinks .... So i like Lil B......TYBG

Ok thanks for that comment. Ok so maybe I do have the terms BASED confused. From my understanding of how he put's it Based music is the wild stuff he raps about. I thought the positive stuff he  puts together was the real him. When I say real him, I mean PRE WONTON SOUP & PRETTY B*TCH THOUGHTS.

dude, lil b may not be a lyrical talib, but the attempt is worth acknowledgement, he is just like every other human-- has a serious side and is trying to reach out and speak his truth from his perspective.

    lol

Wait a minute! This is good! Oh wait, he's just stealing ideas from other rappers and awkwardly gluing them together into a less than mediocre song, which sounds like a masterpiece compared to the rest of his songs...

Lil b hasn't changed a bit, he's always had positive songs like this and based freestyles. It's just that the general public would rather hear wonton soup, than to hear the age of information. Or pretty bitch over motivation.

It's what you chose to listen to, when I first heard based god, it was the age of information and I was like wow this dude can spit, then I heard the other based freestyles and I stuck to the positive tunes like this

Just cos a nigga switched his style up doesn't mean he's good... Lol?
This is alright, but if it wasn't Lil B you guys wouldn't be fuckin' with this.

word, Age of Information was the first Lil B song I heard, which came out before that Wonton Soup bullshit. And I've been a fan of him since that. He didn't change up his style to sound good, he just returned to his old style.
