Mobb Deep featuring Nas – Dog Sh*t
By Petar Kujundzic / Tracks / April 4, 2011 / 1975 Views

Following Prodigy's release from jail, the infamous Mobb Deep kept their promise and reunited with frequent collaborator Alchemist in order to serve this Queensbridge that gully rap style. To top things off, the legendary duo also rejoined forces with Nasir Jones to bring their first collaboration since 1999's "It's Mine." What appears to be a QB homecoming audio tour is interestingly titled "Dog Sh*t." Find out why below.

The return of that illy shit

I might catch a lot of heat for this comment but...
It really sounds like they ran out of ideas to rap about.
If you a fan of gritty grimy pure essence of New York shit, then you'll probably gonna be bumping this for 2 weeks, then go back to some old school 90's gangster, mafioso, or hardcore rap.

To me it's just.. meh. Not the type of quality I expect from this collaboration. They all have potential to spit iller shit. Here, they just sound like they're rapping, it doesn't really stand out. The beat is dope, their flows don't have flaws but aren't exciting either. No real stand-out lines except for maybe Nas' lil' wordplay he has about prison life and the mentality before, during, and after being in the cell.

Just seems 'worn & tired out' to me.

Nas earned the third and closeout verse. Beat let me down, to be honest. Keys are loud but everything else is soft. Mobb obviously peaked a long time ago. I don't know what you expected in 2011 from these dudes. I thought the track was predictable. Not classic, but not bullshit either.

shit was nasty. might sound like that same old 90's rap, but compared to a lot of bullshit i be hearing today, it feels almost refreshing.
