Lupe Fiasco Plans Another New Album in 2011

Besides today's arrival of Lasers, there is some more good news for all the Lupe Fiasco fans out there. In an interview with Gigwise, the Chicago rapper revealed that he is planning to release one more album this year in order to comply with his Atlantic Records contract.

“There’s another Lupe record that I want to do before the end of the year, because it’s been so long. It’s been four years [since 2007’s ‘The Cool’], I think we have the opportunity to write almost, because it’s been so long. So I’m actively perusing getting the label to agree with that, and that will be it.”

In addition, this summer will most likely see a new release from his rocking side project Japanese Cartoon. Get Lasers here.

    he had the record finished already, didnt he?
    he better do this quick, cuz he needs to get off his contract. it is obvious lasers was made recently rather than the finished work that was ready some years ago. The lyrics are underwhelming, and it sounds a bit too much like b.o.b.'s album.
    their albums are as much Atlantic as Daft Punks soundtrack was Hans Zimmer.

    Lupe, please dumb it down, put out the album, and move over to G.O.O.D. or Star Trak and join your buddies who do put out what they want.

    bottom line people: we get to hear lupe on record for the first time since '07. His record got released after being one of the most pushed back albums. FIASCO FRIDAY, remember that? The album isnt completely garbage, and lupe likes several songs on his album. So stop with this whole lupe album sucks bandwagon ish and appreciate that were finally listening to lasers right now.
