Mayer Hawthorne – Held The Hand (Daniel Johnston Cover)

Known for his outstanding Motown-influenced music Mayer Hawthorne has proven his soulful talents with his debut album A Strange Arrangement. Despite being constantly on tour the man from Ann Arbor, Michigan seems to spend enough time in the recording studio to bless us with musical gems. His latest track symbolizes a rather alternative route for Mr Hawthorne as he covers Daniel Johnston's timeless hit "Held The Hand". Luckily, his piano-driven interpretation sounds so good that it is safe to say, that the Stones Throw-signee is able to conquer various music genres in the future.
