Vampire Weekend - Ottoman

The preppy, Ivy League educated, boat shoe clad crew known as Vampire Weekend still stand as a polarizing band. On one hand, you have your group of hipsters who scoff at their clean, straight forward approach of rich suburban ulatra Anglo Saxon kids playing African inspired Rock music. On the other hand several indie rock lover embraced them as an unpretentious breath of fresh air in the midst of soul less electro pop and feedback heavy art rock. Either way, one listen to their new song entitled “Ottoman” from the soundtrack to the new film Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist you can tell the boys are staying right on course that they paved on their self titled debut album. Complete with clean guitar strums and cascading strings “Ottoman” definitely sounds like a contender for Hypetrak Friday pick of the week. Check it out below.
