The Knux have the distinction of standing at the helm of a movement and the cusp of a backlash. Hip Hop has been seeing a downturn from music that is all gangster posturing and more theatrical than enjoyable. The Knux along with the rest of the new school MCs making noise on the blogosphere and mainstream, combine old school ethics with a new twist on beats and lyrics. The new video from the duo entitled “Bang! Bang!” juxtaposes a dramatic storyline with a beat containing punk guitar riffs and electronic synth stabs. This new breed of MC no longer lives in a bubble where they pretend that they aren’t influenced by other genres. The result is a hybrid of funk, rock, hip hop, electro and all dopeness.
