Melodium is a perfect example of the modern one man band. The one man band used to be a vaudeville joke with a man carrying drums, banjos, flutes, cymbals, and an accordion all on his back, but modern instruments and recording have evolved to allow a new wave of composers to hide in their basements and produce epic sounding works full of every instrument imaginable. Laurent Girard a.k.a. Melodium released his newest album My Mind Is Falling To Pieces in June. It is a beautiful ambient walk through folk guitars light piano and whispered vocals. Melodium now has another album entitled Cerebro Spin set to drop in October on Audio Dregs. Girard is no stranger to releasing album after album, since 2001 he has released 16 albums, 5 of which were self-released CD-Rs.
