Kanye West - Love Lockdown

The wait for the CDQ of this is finally over. The internet has been going crazy waiting for this to finally drop, Although this is about a day or two later, better late then never. Whether you like it or not you have to respect Mr. West’s risk taking and creativity as an artist. I will say this though, the live version was much better as far as energy goes. *Updated with mastered version*

I love the new direction Kanye is going in truthfully. I feel as if he continued his school themed soul sample based music or even the electronic house shit he was doing lately it would get repeditive and stale. He’s actually taking a chance, challenging himself, challenging his fans and still making catchy music. He’s gonna alienate allot of fans with this but, that’s what happens when you put yourself out there and attempt something new. I expect the new album to be artsier, edgier and darker. And, this is coming from someone who totally disliked “Stronger” for the first 3 months that it was out.

I give him major props for even trying this.

Man this can’t be a final version, the vocals in the Chorus sound totally off. I reckon this is a rough mixdown from an unfinished version of the song.

BeastPosted by: Shinchi / September 10th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

this song is straight GARBAGE!

WTH KANYE! COME ON THIS IS STRAIGHT TRASH!!! BEAT IS GARBAGE ALSO.

Fuck, this was the exclusive track Kanye was performing at the Nike+ Human Race concert in Los Angeles. He stopped right in the fucking middle of it because the band messed up. I’m glad I finally got a chance to hear it, it sounded better live, probably because he didn’t have the auto-pitch correction shit while he was singing.

It’s alright, he just doesn’t have the vocals to be singing like that, that’s why he’s a rapper.

BeastPosted by: ... / September 10th, 2008 at 10:36 pm

does anyone else hear that clacking sound during the chorus?

Beast
BeastPosted by: carlosyouSOB / September 10th, 2008 at 10:50 pm

honestly, it sounded a lot better live. he’s like mumbling on a lot of the words and that kills it…but i still love the song. well i love it live…i like it in cdq lol

Beast
BeastPosted by: donavan / September 10th, 2008 at 10:51 pm

Beast
BeastPosted by: Los / September 10th, 2008 at 11:50 pm

BeastPosted by: Keith Brisbane / September 11th, 2008 at 12:00 am

i gotta give him props for trying new stuff, honestly i love the deep soul samples as the next Ye’ fan, but as an artist i believe you have to experiment with new forms of music and thats exactly what kanye is doing!!

Beast
BeastPosted by: naeem / September 11th, 2008 at 12:09 am

this aint the live version guys everyone knows this already its a demo version

Beast
BeastPosted by: jt8908 / September 11th, 2008 at 1:04 am

studio version is alot better get to really hear him, although the live vesion gives off enegry and how he really feels and the emotion that he puts into this song. i love how we get a new creative side of kanye west not to knock all the other creative shit this man has done because ot me he sets the tone of how far the rap game can go creativly

Beast
BeastPosted by: Im Jaded / September 11th, 2008 at 1:50 am

This version doesnt really do it for me I cant wait til he actually releases the studio quality one. The chorus just sounds off

Beast
BeastPosted by: Samo / September 11th, 2008 at 2:05 am

great track. it’s called “diversity” haters!

Beast
BeastPosted by: splonkers!! / September 11th, 2008 at 3:08 am

If he mixes that main vocal in the chorus into the distance with a load of reverb; then brings some hard shit into the foreground. That track could be the shit.

Beast
BeastPosted by: Shinchi / September 11th, 2008 at 8:03 am

This is awful…why is Kanye changing his voice(or whatever)so he sounds like T-Pain. I honestly lost a little respect for him now!

Beast
BeastPosted by: GeekDown / September 11th, 2008 at 10:19 am

That is definitely NOT CD quality.. and it sounds like some one is clapping during the chorus. totally ruins shit. guaranteed to sound better on CD.

WoW…And i don’t mean WoW in a surprised flabbergasted expression. Wow meaning this song is garbage, Kanye is loosing his credibility as we speak, I’m not bashing the dude, I like his music, but this songs seems like a rookie getting into the game with mixtapes. G.O.O.D music my ass

Beast
BeastPosted by: realtalk / September 11th, 2008 at 11:49 am

Total T-pain rip…sounds like something my 4 years old cousin would make if you gave him a toy piano….poor Kanye…

Beast
BeastPosted by: MZ / September 14th, 2008 at 12:54 am

Kanye is just jumping on the electronic bandwagon, electronic music has been around for a long time. Kraftwerk are the legends. Want to see real MC’s rip the mic..watch “This is the Life” by Ava Duvernay. See it on youtube. These are true legends that will go down in history books. Not some materialistic mediocre rapper who has the edge by jumping on the nuts of fashion designers/artists who are now tarnished with some of his wacky wackness. Kanye needs a hip-hop hearing aid.
