For those of you reading this who have heard of Grouper a.k.a. Liz Harris, you will be excited to watch this video. For those of you who have not, I suggest you download the song posted below before watching this video (It might be a bit too drone rock for some). Grouper has fast become one of my favorite musical acts. Harris has a brilliant talent for layering ominous yet soothing guitar melodies with massive walls of noise to create a sonic landscape unlike anything else. On top of this mess or sometimes mixed in between is her angelic voice. Her latest album Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill was released a few months ago and is now available on vinyl. Her split with Inca Ore which was originally only available on cassette has also been released on CD, so check it out. She has two dates scheduled in October in her native Portland, OR.
