You would be hard pressed to find many people who would dispute the genius of Radiohead. You would also be hard pressed to find anyone who can duplicate Thom Yorke’s falsetto singing voice that meshes perfectly with the musical landscape. This is why so many Radiohead cover songs fall flat because they can not capture the mixture of emotion and beauty in Thom’s timbre. However, Cee-lo of Gnarls Barkley and Goodie Mob fame singing voice packs just as much pain with an added gospel and soul influence. Its not often that a band can replicate Radiohead’s music but Gnarls Barkley isn’t your everyday band. Check out the boys perform “Reckoner” live in concert and actually do the song justice.
